Okayama Castle

Park Kerak-en in Okayama - one of Japan's three famous parks along with kairaku-en and en Kenroku. Originally, the park was named Cohen (later school) because it was broken after the completion of the Okayama Castle, which is located opposite the park. His current name of the Kerak en received in 1871.

Work on the breakdown of Kerak en were begun in 1687 and completed in 1702 the local feudal lord Ikeda Tsunamasoy. In 1871 Kerak en was transferred to Okayama Prefecture, and since 1884 it is open to visitors. During the Second World War, this park-garden was badly damaged by bombing, but was later rebuilt according to old drawings and drawings.

The park is 13 hectares. The park was designed in a style that can be translated from Japanese as "scenic walk": lawns, ponds, rocks, lights, hills, tea houses and streams are combined in such a way to enhance the beauty of nature.
