Subject-Verb Agreement

Concept

Subject-Verb Agreement น้ันก็มีเร.องแควา พจนของ Noun กับรูป

ของ Verb จะตองสอดคลองกันคือ

•  Subject เปน Singular ก็ใหใช Singular Verb (Vsing) ดวย •  Subject เปน ก็ใหใช Plural Verb (Vplur) ดวย

ประเด็นท่ี 1 Indefinite Pronoun

Every, Some, Any, No + one/ body/ thing/ where

คำเหลาน้ีถือเปน “Singular”เพราะฉะน้ันตองตามดวย Vsing เสมอ

ประเด็นท่ี 2 Gerund Phrase, Infinitive Phrase และ Noun Clause

Gerund Phrase, Infinitive Phrase และ Noun Clause ถือเปน “Singular”

ประเด็นท่ี 3 Prepositional Phrase

Noun หรือ Pronoun หลัง Preposition จะทำหนาท่ีเปนไดแค Modifier เปน Subject ไมไดเด็ดขาด

ประเด็นท่ี 4 Unit of Measurement

เม.อใดก็ตามหากเห็นหนวยวัดความยาว น้ำหนัก ปริมาตร มูลคา ฯลฯ แมวาหนวยวัดน้ันจะเขียนอยูในรูป “Plural” แตจะถือวาเปน Singular เสมอ

ประเด็นท่ี 5 Proper Noun

Proper Noun หรือช.อเฉพาะ ถึงแมวาจะเขียนเปน plural เราก็ถือวาเปน singular เสมอ

ประเด็นท่ี 6 Correlating Conjunction

Correlating Conjunction ประกอบดวยคำวา Both …. and ….

Neither …. nor …..

Either ….. or …..

Not only…… but also ……

ให Verb สอดคลอง กับ Subject ตัวหลัง

ประเด็นท่ี 8 Quantifier + of the

Q-Word of the

ถา Q-Word ท่ีตองตามดวย Countable Noun จะตองเปน

Plural เสมอ

ถา Q-Word ท่ีตองตามดวย Uncountable Noun

Verb ให Agree กับ Q-Word

Vsing เสมอ

กลุม 1 Transitive Verb of Feeling (Cont.)

tire = เบ.อ เหน.อย trouble = กังวลใจ

thrill = ต.นเตน

touch = ซ้ึงใจ

upset = หงุดหงิด

worry = กังวลใจ

frighten = กลัว interest = สนใจ

irritate = หงุดหงิด

please = พอใจ

satisfy = พอใจ

shock = ตกใจ surprise = แปลกใจ

scare = ตกใจ

กลุมท่ี 2 คือพวกท่ีตามดวยGerund (Ving) หรือ Infinitive with to (to + Vinf)

ชอบ / ไมชอบเปนชีวิตจิตใจ

อยาก / ไมอยากเปนครั้งคราว

กลุมท่ี 2 คือพวกท่ีตามดวยGerund (Ving) หรือ Infinitive with to (to + Vinf)

หยุดกระทำส่ิงน้ัน

หยุดเพ.อท่ีจะกระทำส่ิงน้ัน
