The title of this exhibition might suggest theiconographic destinations a tourist associates withthe American landscape such as the Grand Canyonor Yosemite: “Kodak Moments”, but Graves andGridley’s American Scenics are those placesidentified by place names only and constructed byhuman hands; these landscapes and cityscapes areoften discovered by chance en route from one placeto another as their commercial photographyassignments dictate.
