Once upon a time there was family living in Rio, in Brazil.

The people in the family were Diego, Roberta, Maria and their parents.

Diego was the oldest child in the family.

He enjoys playing football and his favourite colour is blue.

The youngest child is Maria who has long brown, curly hair with lovely, shiny eyes.

One day they were sitting on the beach in the warm sun. Diego was so hungry he was munching on some delicious tacos when all of a sudden an earthquake shook the landscape.

The children ran home terrified for their lives. When they got there they cried to their father “Papa, we hate it here, it is so dangerous!.” Father thought about it and decided it was time to move to the UK. So they packed up their bags and got ready to go.

On the way to the airport they looked out of the window they said good-bye to the warm weather, the busy city, the hot beach, their small apartment and the friendly people.

As they boarded the airplane, Diego was so nervous that he couldn’t say a word. He looked out the window as the plane took off and saw that Brazil was very beautiful and it looked like a toy.

They were panicking but luckily they heard a voice come over the loudspeaker. “ This is the pilot, don’t worry but we are making an emergency stop in the city of Arusha.”

Suddenly, the oxygen masks fell from the ceiling. “Oh no,” Diego gasped. He grabbed the masks and put them on as quickly as he could.

Maria stopped crying but she was still a bit nervous and wet her pants. Kind Roberta saw Maria was sad and held her hand and gave her clean clothes to wear. As they landed they wondered what Arusha would be like.

At the hotel, they thought about what they would do stuck in Arusha in Tanzania. They noticed the people looked different then them. The people they saw around had shaved heads even the ladies. They were speaking a different language, Kiswahili not Portugese. Some even wore strange clothes called Shuka.

Most people had darker skin too!

"Let's go explore!" Shouted Roberta. Mom agreed so we went and explored the city. "First we must buy a Kiswahili dictionary" said Dad. "How will we pay? Do they use The same currency as we do in Brazil?" asked Diego. "No, they use shillings here" said Mom.

We took a safari and went to Ngorogoro crater and saw hyenas and the BIG FIVE.

We drove past the famous clock tower on the way to Snake park.

Three days later we were tired and happy after our lovely trip through town. We asked Dad if we could move here.
