Design of the main ring and distribution lines
Themain ringisoftenthemainskeletonofanetwork.Thisloop
islocatedclosetothemainpointofuse,withdroplegsconnecting
themainringtoyourpointofuse,ensuringaminimalpressure
drop. Using a main ring, the pressure drop is twice as low as
when using a straight distribution line of the same length.
Ingeneral,themainring’sdiameterisbasedonthecapacityofall
compressorsconnectedtothenetwork,andshouldtakepossible
futureextensionsintoaccount.
Adistribution lineisusuallypreferredtoconnectthemainring
toasinglepointofusewhich is isolated ina remote location.
Thediameterofthedistributionlineshouldbebasedontheair
demandatthisspecificpointofuse.

Nipple sockets are used to connect any sort of equipmenttoorfromtheinletoroutletthread.Nipplesocketsarekeyfittingswhichguaranteecompatibilitywithanyexistingnetworkorpieceofequipment.
Alargerangeofnipplesocketsisavailabletoeasetheconnectionto any existing thread. For each diameter, the thread outletisavailablein2sizes:•toconnecttothesamediameter,•toconnecttoasmallerdiameter(onesizesmaller).
Thislimitstheuseofadditionalgalvanizedbushesandnipplestomakebothsystemscompatible.
The range of nipple sockets is available in a polymeror aluminium body. For larger diameters, it is recommendedtousethealuminiumbodythread.

Thefurthestpointpressuredropisthedifferenceinpressurebetweenthepointofgenerationandthefurthestpointinyourinstallation.Ahighpressuredropmeanstheregulatingpressureonthecompressorneedstobesethighertocompensateforthepressuredrop.As a 1 bar (15 psi) additional operating pressure results in about7% higher energy consumption, pressure drops drastically increasetheelectricalbill.
