International cooperation Why is a good thing to live in the countryside?

• The association got established september 2007 in cooperation of 17 settlements;

• We started the strategy planning process in may and finished july 6. We accepted the strategy July 1. 2008. with a ceremony on the official meeting of the association;

• The aims of the strategy are as follows:– Real picture about the economy of the area– To set up the most important goals of the development of economy– To identify the different development goals– To initiate the most important cooperations of rural development (local

government, institutions, business organizations, civil organizations)– To empower the local resources in sake of a better living environment

• The Strategy of the Association gives a clear picture of all these, and to reach the aims of the III-IV axis of the National Rural development programme

Introduction

Our Area• There are 17 settlements composing the association, the

number of inhabitantas: 24.000. The area is covered by Börzsöny hills, and the Ipoly river. Most of the area belongs to the Danube-Ipoly National Park, forestry on 18.000 Ha, ¾ of the whole territory.

• Thanks to the variety of nature, it is a very popular touristic area.

• We have traditions of vegetable and fruit production in the area, and our aim is to set to the area the whole chain of the food production. We also would like to support the traditional handicraft activities as well. These areas are very important in creation of new job opportunities, and preservation of the already existing ones.

Aim of our international cooperation

The most important future chance of agriculture is the integration in rural developement. The main aim is not to let the domestic village people to migrate from the area, and also to preserve the traditional village lifestyle, to intergate the rural society. In all to make the difference between the village and the cities narrover.

• All the partners agree that besides local rural development the international relations, and their development is very important. We should set up common goals in short and long term as well, and realize them together.
