PERSONAL STATEMENT I’m a creative thinker, wordsmith and brand strategist. I’m hungry for knowledge and driven by the curiosity to learn something new, always looking for ways to communicate brands in a lateral manner. I take immense pride in my work and always complete everything to the best of my ability. WORK EXPERIENCE Gorilla Creative Media (2014 – Present) Copywriter. My roles consist of conceptualising, campaign copywriting, monthly content copywriting and copy editing. Two campaigns of mine that have done well are a 2015 Country Fresh Summer Campaign and the King Cone #BeatTheCraving Twitter campaign (gaining 1.2 million impressions in 30 days). INTERNSHIPS Gorilla Creative Media (November 2014) Copywriting/strategy intern. I was involved in many brainstorms and conceptualisation as well as campaign and content copywriting. The agency went on to hire me. TBWA\ Hunt Lascaris (November 2013) Copywriting/strategy intern. I worked on radio ads, The Durban Country Club, Squillos and Tops with some of my Drinktionary words being published. I was offered a job but declined as I was doing my honours in 2014. FREELANCE Hygizone (December 2013) Freelance Copywriter. I wrote pay-off lines for and analysed and wrote scripts for possible TV ads. Prima Toys “Adopt a baby rhino” campaign (April 2013) Freelance Copywriter. I edited copy and partly edited design for the TV advert. VEGA BRAND CHALLENGES Whizzkids United (2014) We created fundraising activations for Whizzkids United and secured Amazulu FC as a sponsor for them. I was the team leader. I wrote the strategy and copy and presented to client. The Natal Sharks (2013) We created a campaign to re-launch and create hype around Sharkie, adapt party offerings and design a new clothing range. I wrote the strategy & conceptualised the idea. Some of our ideas were implemented. Wildlands Conservation Trust (2012) We created a Comrades campaign for Wildlands Conservation Trust. Client considered some ideas.
