H e who knows nothing, loves nothing. H e who

can do nothing understands nothing. H e who

understands nothing is worthless. But he who

understands also loves, notices, sees. . . . The

more knowledge is inherent in a thing, the

greater the love. . . . Anyone who imagines

that all fruits ripen at the same time as the

strawberries knows nothing about grapes.

SCHOOL

There once was a school on the street of eighty-nine That certainly was mighty fine Although many students think it is not too devine It w i l l always be a favorite of mine.

Its red doors stand out al l year round Just barely surviving their crushing sound The teachers in their usual way always act the very same way some easy, some strict, some mixed.

Most of the students show a bit of vimAlthough the amount of work they get is certainly not slimEven though the classrooms are sometimes quite dimThe teachers, with their bad jokes, always put themselves on a rim.

Whether good time or badThe things that I have gone through have certainly made me g ladIt's true al l season roundOur school wil l be the best in town.

Somewhere Amongst the Peoples

There are those who soak up the sorrow And mock you when you truly cry. Some tell you about life Some let you live. There are those who offer their hand And put gloves on to touch. Some come running from distant roadsAnd find misdirection when nearing your eall. Some pat your head,But tremble when it lies in their lap.And somewhere amongst the peoples Some feel the pain, have lived And touched other hands And are running their race. They give strength when you lean. And in the quietness of today's Still fading twilight. They silently understand and wait.
