TYPES OF COMIC AND THE GENRE PROBLEM IN WORKS OF BRANISLAV NUI

(Summary)

Branislav Nui was engaged in diff erent literary genres. In both his comedies and prose, he used

diff erent types of comic. The intention of this text is to indicate how wide were the author's limitations

by the principles of the genre, and how much he changed and adapted the genre to his own text. The

essential question of the research is the question of the comic's fi jnctions, their transformations, de

-

pending on genre characteristics and dramatic comical situations. Nui's most famous comedies, short

dramatic forms (sketches, j okes), and his Autobiography wil l be separately analized in this text.
