A. ASPECTOS GENERALES
FACULTAD: CIENCIAS BÁSICAS
PROGRAMA ACADÉMICO: MAESTRÍA EN CIENCIA Y TECNOLOGÍA DE
MATERIALES CÓDIGO: 138
B. FUNDAMENTACIÓN DEL PROGRAMA: Este programa permitirá la formación de talento humano en el área de los materiales y trabajar
sobre proyectos específicos de desarrollo de productos y/o mejoramiento de tecnología en
colaboración con la industria del sector y con otros grupos de investigación a nivel nacional.
Los egresados podrán abordar problemas relacionados con el área de los materiales y
presentar aportes significativos e innovadores que permitan a la industria nacional competir
en los mercados internacionales.
Adicionalmente a lo anterior, la formación como investigadores también estará orientada
hacia las ciencias aplicadas.
C. OBJETIVOS DEL PROGRAMA:
- Formar talento humano con pertinencia social, excelente calidad académica y científica,
que le permita incorporarse a labores de investigación, docencia y desarrollo en
instituciones de Educación Superior, así como en los sectores productivos y de servicio
tanto a nivel regional, nacional e internacional en el área de la ciencia y la tecnología de
materiales.
- Ofrecer una formación sólida teórico-práctica en las diferentes áreas del conocimiento de
los materiales (cerámicos, metálicos, polímeros y compuestos, entre otros.)
- Propender por la formación de profesionales idóneos con sólida formación en
investigación que les permita involucrarse en el análisis y solución de problemas,
tendientes a satisfacer las necesidades del sector productivo de la región.
- Desarrollar investigadores de excelencia, con un nivel de originalidad, independencia y
metodología científica.
