SOUTH AFRICA IN SHOOTING 1995 - 2015
Exactly twenty years on from the re-appearance of South Africa on the International Fullbore stage, certain appealing characteristics come to mind.
Thefirstistheenduringnatureofthefriendshipsbroughttogetherinacommonbond.Notonly internally, where a mutual respect for a great effort well executed holds sway, but externally, the enthusiasm for friendships forged in the spirit of competition serves as an ongoing interest. There cannot be a higher platform than an assembly of the very best producing results that often serve as inspiration and motivation for years after.
It is this piece in particular that the South African Team would like to highlight, and uniformly extend their thanks for the camaraderie and goodwill to the friends in competing Teams.
The second notion is the tremendous opportunity created by the concept that a sport can host all ages at the very highest level. For this, we all would extend a welcome invitation to any person who may not have encountered long range target shooting, or especially not understood the underlying long term investment in time and friends.
For the NRA of America and International Teams
SouthAfricawishestoextenddeepthankstotheorganisers, theNRAofAmerica, fortheWorldChampionships, and would wish a great Tour and great memories for this Event to the Teams and Competitors. The circuit of the current Host countries is complete from a South African perspective of theseinterveningyears:NewZealand,SouthAfrica,England,Canada,AustraliaandUSA.Itmeanswedraw ever closer for South Africa to play host and return just some of the hospitality and friendship.
For the South African Team
It is with a great sense of appreciation that your efforts and the background support of families brings together such a strong set of individuals and a wonderful Team spirit. I’m sure with these, you will travelfar.BestofluckfromSABU.
