LOCATION- Western India.

It is third largest state.

FLORA- 24 genera and 694 species of plants.

Types of soil

Black soil. Red Sandy soil.Red clay soil. Alluvial soil.

BLACK SOIL Black colored soil has a very high percentage

of humus — 3% to 15%, and phosphoric acids, phosphorus and ammonia.

It is very fertile and produces a high agricultural yield.

Rainfall:Receive heavy rains of an average of 200 cm annually . Under the influence of the Bay of Bengal, eastern Vidarbha receives good rainfall in July, August and September. It helps land to be labelled as the green belt area. It lodges a great diversity of tourist attractions.

Haldu is a deciduous tree HEIGHT- 20 metres high. leaves - broadly oval in shape,

heart-shaped at the base and pointed at the tip.

Use- . The bark of the tree acts as an antiseptic.

MAHUA –A socio Economic tree

HEIGHT-. 20 metres. . WOOD - hard with large sapwood. flowers -fleshy, off white in colour, fruit - kind of berry, egg shaped

MAHUA OIL- treatment of skin diseases,headache,pile.

Use as Diesel fuel extender.

Flowers in fermentation and rich in minerals,vit.,Ca as NUTRITIONAL VALUE.
