As part of the system, the streets in the neighborhood work as arteries, and the city expands and contracts like the human heart as it lives and develops. The building’s ar-tery is its core. How can the neighborhood and the build-ing coexist? The goal is to maximize the exposure of the form to the sun and air.The silhouette of the neighborhood buildings gives the idea of stepping. The core of the building becomes the vertical connection between enclosed spaces. The units come in as the next defining force: the exposure to sun and air dictates a way of bringing the units together to allow an offset where possible.

This project represents a series of ways in which I was trying to observe and express the atmosphere and sentimental feelings of a flaneur on the streets of the Jewish District of Rome,Italy. Through model and drawing, the atmoshere mapping can start to dictate an architecture.
