Rumours that medium density fibre board (MDF) is banned in the USA are untrue. Emissions of formaldehyde from board products are, however, regulated in the USA and Germany, and are expected to be regulated throughout the European Community (EC) in the future.

• OSB/1 General purpose boards, and boards for interior fitments (including furniture) for use in dry conditions

Commonly used man made boards - PlywoodPlywood is normally constructed of odd number of thin veneers glued together with the grain laid at right angles to the adjoining

This ensures the outer veneers are in the same direction

Fixing close to the edge is possible without breakoutVarious timbers are used in the manufacture of ply including, Beech, Douglas fir, Gaboon, Parana pine, Birch etc.
