One method of teaching information skills for investigating sources of information from databases, encyclopaedias and the internet is that known as “the Big Six.” The following is an outline of the process described in this method. www.big6.com/kids/

Use Word to create reports or planning diagrams.• Download reporting templates from http://office.microsoft.com templates 

Create Planning diagram using Word drawing tools:• Click on View – Toolbars – Drawing.• Drawing toolbar will appear along the bottom of the screen.• Click on Autoshapes – Block Arrows.• Drag chosen shape to desired size.• Shape can be adjusted by pulling white or yellow handles• Right­click on the shape and choose add text.• Right click on edge of a shape and choose Format AutoShape to adjust colours and thickness of lines.
