Hi Code Crackers ! You need to understand that each speech sound cloud represents a speech sound. The Sound Pic in bold is the first one we look at for that speech sound. Do not use letter names at all. So the cloud with ‘r’ in bold still represents the sound at the beginning of ‘rat’ – not the letter ‘r’. So if you say c/a/st/le and you pronounce the second sound like ‘ar’ then you need to look in the ‘ar’ cloud. (it’s in the blue level)
