AJAY CHANDRAKAR JI

One of the notable personalities of Chhattisgarh is Mr. Chandrakar. He is serving as Panchayat and

Rural Development, Culture, Tourism and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of

Chhattisgarh State.

He bounced back with the record win in constituency of Dhamtari district after losing

in 2008 assembly elections.

In 2003, he became a part of the Chhattisgarh government as a Panchayat and Rural

Development Minister as well as a Minister of Parliamentary Affairs.

In 2004, he was also assigned the portfolios of Science and Technology, Technical Education, and

Manpower Planning.

Kurud is Shri Ajay Chandrakar's constituency but the family's ancestral village is Arjunda. In his

childhood, he was extremely sharp and mischievous.

Due to his religious nature, he enjoyed listening to mythological legends like Ramayana,

Mahabharata and was very fond of narrating them.

He always enjoys the company of talented narrators and respects them from the bottom

of his heart.

His education took place in the native land of Kurud only. After completion of higher

secondary education, he got placed into SBR College of Bilaspur.

After studying for few years, Shri. Ajay Chandrakar came to Raipur and got himself

enrolled in Durg College.

He completed his M.A. in Hindi Literature and later chose Vishnu Prabhakar's plays as the subject

for his research.

When he was first elected to the assembly, he was considered to be the most studious among all the

other assembly members.

Even today, he has an ardent passion for reading and writing, and a relentless hunger for knowledge.

In spite of his busy routine, the self-disciplined Shri. Chanadrakar still finds time out to read.

Shri. Chandrakar was very active in social and political events and this is why he was known to

everyone as a firebrand in student politics.
