• 56% of U.S. companies plan to hire more interns in 2014, compared to 2013.

• 62% of those companies implement more structured internship programs.

Why Companies hire Interns?

• 73% of large U.S. companies (more than 100 employees) indicate that “finding full time employees” is the main reason to hire interns.

• 73% of small U.S. companies (less than 50 employees) indicate that the main reason to hire interns is “to find part-time help with projects.”

• Interview performance

• Relevant internships/previous experience

• High academic performance

• Strong resume and cover letter

• Recommendations or references

• Attendance at preferred schools
