SHERLOCK HOLMESOpening Scene Sound Analysis
Diegetic Sounds
There were various diegetic and non-diegetic
sounds used on this scene.
From the horses hooves on the floor, the cawing of
the bird, the cocking of the gun or the door being kicked, they all represent
diegetic sounds.
Non-Diegetic Sounds
The non-diegetic sounds are also present on this
scene. Right in the beginning you can hear
the music starting slow, a piano playing, as well as sound effects to create drama, picks of speed
and rhythms and emphasis of drum rolls.
