PLAY SUMMARYRomeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are a young couple in love but their love is imposible because they come from families which hate each other. Romeo attends a masquerade ball at the Capulet´s house and when they meet, the instantly fall in love. After this, they have a secret meeting and, helped by friar Laurence, they get married. Unfortunately, after their wedding Romeo kills Juliet´s cousin and he is forced to live the city. Meanwhile, Juliet´s parents dont know she is married and they tell her she must marry Paris. Then, Juliet plans ,with Firar laurece, to fake her death and scape with Romeo. But, sadly, Romeo doesn´t know anything about the plan and he decides to visit Juliet. At that instant, he thinks she is dead and kills himself. And, when Juliet wakes up, and sees that Romeo is dead, She kills herself.

ROMEO´S ROLE The Montague´s son. A young man of about sixteen. Handsome, intelligent and sensitive. At first, he is in love with Rosaline, but she doesn´t love him. His Friends Benvolio and Mercutio take him to a masquerade

ball at the Capulets house without being invited. Once inside, Romeo and Juliet meet and they instantly fall in love.

Romeo will be the killer of Tybalt and Paris. When Romeo realizes Juliet is dead, he resolves to die.

CHARACTER ANALYSIS TRHOUGHOUT THE PLAY: Romeo becomes mature from

adolecence to adulthood as a result of his love for Juliet.

Romeo uses the poetic language to express his emotions about his situation.

As the play progresses, his language begins to sound less artificial.

The fatidic destiny of Romeo is predetermined throughout the play.

Romeo belongs to a world defined by love rather than a world fractured by hostilities.
