Over 20 years, GE has been conducting research activities in relation to additive manufacturing including 3D printing. GE is committed to develop 3D printing applications applicable to all areas of GE's business realms, ranging from healthcare to energy.
More than 300 3D printers are under operation today. Our additive manufacturing technology has saved production time and cost by 25% and 30%, respectively.
GE's Industrial Internet solutions are bringing about a new world of innovation and changes for its customers. Industrial Internet connects machines to machines to increase productivity and efficiency across industries. On the evening of March 6,1887, a small light flickered at
Geoncheon Palace in the Gyeongbok Palace. The first light in the
country brightened the area.
"Wow!" - everyone gathered near the light gasped in surprise.
It was the first electric light ever to be lit in Korea.
An electric light engineer from the Edison Electric Light Company,
named William McKay, assembled and installed electric generators
and the light.
Around that time, Thomas Edison wrote in his journal as below:
"The light bulb that I invented lit in a mysterious royal palace
in Asia… I feel like dreaming!!"

'GE Volunteers' is a global network that facilitates and supports volunteering activities to improve life in the communities where GE people live and work. 'GE Volunteers' in Korea is spending more than 1,000 hours every year for various volunteering activities, supporting children suffering from Down-syndrome, making Kimchifor disabled communities, and planting trees to improve local environments.
We also invest in continuous learning and leadership development. Since 1992, GE Korea has been supporting more than 140 undergraduates majoring in Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Business Administration through the 'GE Scholar-Leaders Program.' GE is also fostering future leaders of Korea through affiliated programs such as 'GE-McKinsey Leadership Workshop' and 'GE-Ewha Leadership Challenge.' Since 2010, GE Korea's iconic internship program called, 'GE URP (University Relations Program),' has been providing an unbeatable combination of skills, experience, and knowledge through extensive training and assignments for undergraduates.
In addition, we have hosted 'GE Global Customer Summit' since 2005, providing an opportunity for executive customers to gather and discuss topics of shared interest with an aim to help drive their success and opportunities to further collaborate.
