EtherSAM – Dual Test Set

Each Direction is measured: Remote to Local: 30Mbps

Local to Remote: 70Mbps


› LOCAL UNIT

Dual Test Set – Enable Dual Test Set

Please enable the Dual

Test Set as per screen.

Select the unit as Local

(shown in picture)


Dual Test Set: Link Up & Configure the L2/L3 – Local unit

Ensure that the Link is up at Local

side (green colour as per screen)

Configure the VLAN & IP address

and Subnet Mask. If there is

gateway, enable and key in related

gateway.


Dual Test Set: Scan Remote Unit

Click the Scan Subnet, the remote

IP address (10.10.150.34) will be

scanned and listed.

Click the Select, the IP

10.10.150.34 will be selected. Then

Click the Connect button to

connect the remote unit.


Dual Test Set: Scan Remote Unit and Connect

The Remote unit 10.10.150.34 is

connected.



› REMOTE UNIT

Dual Test Set - Configuration – Remote unit

Same as Local unit, enable

the Dual Test Set, the set the

unit to Remote.


Dual Test Set – Link Up & Configure L2/L3 for Remote unit

Ensure the link up at the remote side

(Green colour as per screen).


and Subnet Mask. If there is a

gateway, enable and key in the

related gateway.


› After the Local unit connected to the Remote unit, we can start configure the test.

Dual Test Set – EtherSAM configuration

1) From the Main Menu, click the Test

2) From the Test, click the EtherSAM

3) From the EtherSAM, click the configuration


Dual Test Set: Configuration of EtherSAM

Under Configuration, click on Services to

configure your streams/services.

Under the Service, you can configure No of

streams, frame size and etc.

Under the Frame Parameters, you can

select Local to Remote or Remote to Local

for each stream. The VLAN/IP/UDP can be

configure as well.

Under the SLA Parameters, you may able to

configure the CIR/bandwidth for each

stream. The threshold for Jitter, Latency and

Frame Loss can be set here.


Dual Test Set: EtherSAM IP configuration

Under Service, click the

IP, then prompt out the

IP configuration page,

you can configure the

Destination address,

the gateway here.


Dual Test Set: EtherSAM IP configuration

After configure the

Services, click the

Overview. Please check

the Service as per

screen. You can set

your test time.

After all configuration,

press the Start Button.

single stream.

*** Result will show Local to Remote and Remote to Local.

1) Local to Remote and Remote to Local result is shown as per screen.

2) Throughput, Frame Loss, Packet Jitter and Latency = EtherSAM


Dual Test Set: Result for Service Test Overview

1) Under Service Test, you can see any particular stream/service.

2) You can select the Local to Remote and Remote to Local direction.

1) Both directions are measured; resulted in throughput measurement of 30Mbps

2) Result reflect both direction, but does not provide enough details to pinpoint

where is the fault.

Click the EtherSAM

button, the un-check the

Dual Test Set as per

screen.


Round Trip Test: Link Up & Configure L2/L3

Ensure that the Link is up at Local

side (green colour as per screen)


and Subnet Mask. If there is

gateway, enable and key in related

gateway.


Round Trip Test: Remote side: Link Up & Configure L2/L3

Click the SmartLoopback Ensure that the remote unit Link is

Up. Green Colour as per screen.

gateway, enable and key in the

related gateway.


Round Trip Test: Start the Remote Unit

Start the remote unit by click

the start button as per screen.

The Result from the Remote

Unit will be shown as above

screen.


- After configure the Remote Unit, then configure the Local Unit as Dual Test Set,

(configure the streams; Frame size, set the CIR/bandwidth, VLAN/IP/UPD and etc)

- Start the test on the Local Unit.

Round Trip Test: Local Unit

After configure the

Services, click the

Overview. Please check

the Service as per

screen. You can set

your test time.

After all configuration,

press the Start Button.
