Business Description:Indispensable Associates will provide Virtual Assistants to companies, nonprofit organizations, and entrepreneurs. We will be a dedicated Virtual Assistance service provider based out of Brooklyn, New York.

Industry Description:The virtual assistance profession started over ten years ago, and as time progressed the profession has flourished. According to Jan Harris, “it's estimated that in 2007 there were over 8,000 Virtual Assistants all over the globe! The United States has roughly over 2,000 individuals working at home as VAs and the numbers will definitely grow.”

Target Market:Indispensable Associates will target three diverse market segments. 1. The first segment will be companies that had mass layoffs throughout New York City.2. Our second customer segment will be entrepreneurs in various industries. 3. Large nonprofit organizations will be our third customer segment.

Service Description:Indispensable Associates will offer a wide array of services. The majority of services offered will be administrative, including data entry, email management, reminder and mailing services, etc. These types of services will have a lower service charge compared to those that require a higher level of skill and greater amount of time such as Web Design, Search Engine Optimization, and Web Maintenance.

Indispensable Associates will target three diverse market segments. The first segment will be companies that had mass layoffs throughout New York City. Employers in New York State took 1,121 mass layoff actions in 2010 that resulted in the separation of 125,909 workers, as measured by new filings for unemployment insurance benefits during the year.

Our second customer segment will be entrepreneurs in various industries. We understand how busy one’s life can be. The demands of education, work, and family/friend time can be stressful and time consuming. My VAs will execute many business or school related tasks, and even assist entrepreneurs with their business start-ups. Both students and entrepreneurs will be able to use our services to give them some time to enjoy their lives.

Large nonprofit organizations (such as Academy for Educational Development, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Habitat for Humanity International, etc…) will be our third customer segment. We all know that large nonprofit organizations have very limited funding. They try to use volunteers to get most of their work done, but volunteer’s can only donate an hour or two. *The Service Atlas lists over 7,000 nonprofit organizations in New York City; with a majority being volunteer office aides. Our virtual assistants will be a great asset for these organizations for numerous reasons. We will cost less than having in-house employees because we will not require benefits, training, office equipment/setup, etc. My employees will have the expertise the job assignment requires. We are able to give the organization an outsider’s point of view and be a great source for networking. Best of all, the organization will save their limited funds because they will only pay for the labor needed to complete the task.
