Ängsbacka Leadership TrainingExpand the leader within! When the heather shows it face in the woods of Värmland and the first blue anemone open herself towards the sun - that is the hour when 50 persons gather to practice their leadership at Ängsbacka kursgård, Molkom.

Are you one of them?We believe that you are curious about your own potential.

We know that you are brave and openhearted.

We hope that you, together with us, want to co-create the experience of the year at

Ängsbacka this summer.

We are looking forward to meeting you and put our common leadership into play and action!

In Ängsbacka Leadership Intensive you will get insights, understand group-dynamics, do some homework, take responsibility and learn some theory. There will be love, practice, work and challenges! There will also be a lot of love, friends, laughter and dance, some

hangout in the café and enjoying the open stage.

Voice from a previous coordinator:

”..you can learn and develop as much during these months, as you would during several

years in many other leadership roles and contexts..”

If this attracts you, contact us now!

ÄLI 2011 – content and practical information

The training aspires to awaken and strengthen a practical leadership, steeped in wisdom and love. In the everyday experiences as a coordinator at Ängsbacka there is a constant opportunity to act with the emerging presence necessary for an empathic leadership. To be intuitive and practical at the same time and allowing flow.

Modules, themes, tools and training

The ÄLI training has three main parts. These are leadership, team-building and practical manifestation of the summer festivals. We will deepen our knowledge within different themes such as... leading groups, communication, leadership theory and enabling our strengths, gifts and talents. There will also be exploration and learning about your practical role and function in the daily work.

Within leadership, we will look closely at personal leadership and communication. We will go through experiences, models and tools around team-building and reflect on the phases and possibilities of group process.

The training will bring you different settings in which you can explore what it is for you to be a leader. We will use tools such as leadership principles, non-violent communication, teambuilding, sharing, ceremonies, play, nature, learning goals and reflection tools.

Together we will take the ÄLI training to the next step

The ÄLI training is in total 4 week-ends + 3 weeks during the summer. During the weekends we meet for leadership training, team building and practical planning of the summer. You will be trained in leadership together with the other coordinators, and when the summer comes you will lead the daily work in your work group, together with the site managers and work leaders from the Ängsbacka staff.

We focus on how we work together as well as the human, ecological and economical results that come out of our work at Ängsbacka. During the summer we gather the volunteers and coordinate the work groups which create the actual space at Ängsbacka.

Shared leadershipLike last year there will be a shared leadership system. This year every work group will be lead by 2 och 3 coordinators who plan for all festivals during the whole summer June, July and August. This will give you better possibility to get feed-back around your role and your leadership. It will also create flexibility, as it is up to you and your coordinator partner to decide how you want to share the summer between you. We want to give all coordinators the overview of the summer organization and planning, with foreseeable transitions between the festivals. This to give you the both responsibility for the working areas and development as leader, and at the same time more time for rest and reflection. In this way your time at Ängsbacka will be a developing and fantastic experience.

Personal LeadershipWe will learn how we can lead in creative, honest, and open ways – ways which inspire to responsibility, unity and individuality. We focus on tools for communication, which contribute with increased presence and contact between people.

TeambuildingWe study theoretical models and experience for ourselves how groups and human meetings work, and how they can be led into creativity, openness and trust.

Practical manifestation - Festival organizationEach work group have its specific tasks. We will focus on those, as well as seeing how the groups are part in the big organization. You will get insight into how Ängsbacka works and plan together with Ängsbacka all-year-round staff.

Sharing group & private coachEveryone who participates in ÄLI gets a trained personal coach who support you with your growth as a leader and human being. Together you can investigate what’s happening in the moment, with focus on your goals n your role at Ängsbacka and in your life at large. You will also have a sharing group with other coordinators. This group is a support so that you have the possibility to safely be challenged and share all that is going, giving you a place to relax and just be together during the summer.
