The Naval Reactors Facility was established in the early 1950s to support development of naval nuclear propulsion. The facility is operated by Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation (BMPC), for the Department of Energy’s Office of Naval Reactors. Co-op basics: Interested students apply for available positions, and if offered a co-op

opportunity, register with the Co-op Office in Career Services. Co-op students earn 2 academic credits for each semester of co-op, and

are considered full-time students while on assignment. Students and employers complete evaluations during and at the end of the

assignment, and students write a technical report about their experience.
