Technology and Tools Differentiation8

• What is it?- SmartLine’s method to detect the level

• How are we different?- Competition does not use bi phase wave- Competitive GWR transmitters detect the level using a peak detection

algorithm The maximum peak is the regarded as the desired reading Peak detection is as simple as detecting above a threshold value in some cases

- There are issues with using max peak detection

Some echo peaks are relatively flat Real world conditions are complex & varied Even pre-mapping for obstructions is not

reliable due to changing conditions

Example of threshold

Biphase wave provides larger amplitude and more structure – more information for the correlation algorithm

Why Should Customer Buy from Honeywell?12

Attribute Honeywell SmartLine So What?Bi-Phase Wave Technology

Bi-Phase wave provides larger amplitude and more structure – more information for the Correlation Algorithm.

There are issues with using max peak detectionSome echo peaks are relatively flatReal world conditions are complex and varied. Even pre-mapping for obstructions is not reliable due to changing conditions.

Bottom line, potential error in level measurement in dynamic conditions

Advanced Correlation Algorithm

Correlation Algorithm compares the shape of the measured echo curve with our reflection model

Objective function analysis finds the best level indication

Cloud Design Tool Online & Collaborative engineering tool for error free instrument selection & delivery of fully pre-configured transmitter on-site

Errors in instrument selection resulting in costly on-site delays adversely impacting commissioning schedule. Need more skilled resources to do on-site configuration work

DTM Technology Intuitive guided user experience to leverage most of advanced DTM

Old DTM technology is cumbersome & limits usability for actionable information

Technology & Tools

Intuitive tools & reliable measurement than Emerson
