The Academic Year program

You will benetfrom our intensive, goal-oriented program and haveaccess to our Academic Director and Student Advisor,who will monitor your progress and keep you on track.

The Academic Year program of study will provide you

with a challenging and rewarding curriculum of in-class and at-home assignments and projects whichwill enable you to improve your Listening, Speaking,Grammar, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, Reading andWriting ability. In this way, you can smoothly andsuccessfully transition into either a college or businessenvironment, condent in your newly-improvedEnglish skills.

As an Academic Year student, you will be attending30 lessons of English instruction per week, including

daily homework assignments from each class. You willalso be expected to complete a number of long-termprojects, as dened by your teachers, all of which willhelp speed you on your way to English uency.

During your Academic Year at BAE, your progress will beclosely monitored in the form of regular progress tests,teacher evaluations, and meetings with your StudentAdvisor. University prearation / pathway program

If your focus is on entering college or university inthe US, this program will provide you with the skillsnecessary to excel in the American system of highereducation. The University Preparation program willhelp you reach the required level of English, as wellas help you learn all the study skills you will need inorder to become a successful student. Our challengingcurriculum will prepare you for the rigors of collegelife, and our Student Advisor will be there to guide youin your choice of college or university.

Term One

If you begin our University Preparation program atIntermediate 2 level, you will rst need to createa solid foundation in your General English skills,including Listening, Speaking, Grammar, Vocabulary,Reading, Writing and Pronunciation. You will alsolearn the basics of time management, self-disciplineand other important Study Skills necessary for collegesuccess. The American Culture 1 class will provideyou with a general introduction to what you need to

know about living in the US, while the Pre-TOEFL classwill introduce you to the basic concepts behind theTOEFL test that will be developed further in Term 2.

Term Two

This term will help you focus your English skills intoan Academic format, allowing you to understandlectures given by university professors, developyour academic vocabulary, comprehend largeamounts of text, as well as write formal essays. Youwill learn about the functioning of an Americancollege campus, as well as the US system of highereducation. The Combination program

The Combination Program oers group classes of

Intensive English in the morning and one-to-one

lessons in the afternoon. The advantage of this

program is that you have an opportunity to develop

your language skills (structure and communication) in

a group setting and later have a personal program to

look at specic areas which you wish to improve. We

have a wide mix of nationalities and having lessons

with students from many other countries also has asocial benet you all have to speak English which

Boston Academy of English welcomes student groups.We have designed a package of weekday ESL classeswith student activities, accommodations, meals, airporttransfers, books, and much more at attractive prices fortwo to four week periods. The activities can be coupledwith more extensive weekend excursions, so you canliterally create your own customized program.

Classes are the same top-quality programs that we oeryear-round, but with a more youthful theme. Most juniors(ages 15-18) from around the world are placed together.

The Summer Youth Package residence is a university facilityminutes from our school, which is safe and convenientwith 24-hour security. The rooms are double or tripleoccupancy, with bed linens and towels provided. A typicalday starts with ESL classes from 9:00 am to 12:15. BAE helps with the Student Visa process

According to US Immigration guidelines, anyonecoming into the US to study English full-timeshould have an F-1 Student Visa. Our full-timecourses include: Intensive25, Intensive30, TOEFLPrep., Combination Program, One-to-One, andTEFL Certication programs.

If you would like to apply for a student visa, yourst need an I-20 (Certicate of Eligibility) issuedby BAE. To obtain this document, rst apply toBAE online, via fax, by mail or in person. Along

with the completed application, you must pay theapplication fee and provide nancial documentsshowing sucient available funds. This documentcould be a recent letter or statement from yourbank or your sponsors bank indicating bankbalances of at least $2,000 USD for each monthyou intend to study in the US.

After we receive all the necessary documents,we will send you an Acceptance Packet whichincludes the I-20 and Letter of Acceptance. Once

you have the I-20, you must pay the I-901 feeto SEVIS allowing you to make an appointmentat your nearest US Embassy or Consulate for aninterview. At the interview, you need to bringour documents and complete a Non-ImmigrantVisa application (OF-156), as well as explain tothe US Ocial why you want to come to the US(to study English) and why you will return to yourcountry afterwards.

Once you are at the school, our Registrar will bepleased to assist you with all the information youneed to keep yourself in status.

There are three ways to enroll:

2) Enter your credit card information to pay theregistration fee.

3) Pay $125 registration fee for the Intensive20,Intensive25, and Intensive30 Programs or $300 forEnglish for Professionals.

4) Tuition balance to be paid 2 weeks before startdate of course.
