Adas Torah Kids Corner!

Dear Kids and Parents,

Special thanks to the youth committee members for organizing a super fun day at the park! I hope those who made shofaros are enjoying them and not keeping the neighborhood awake:). This week's parsha craft will be an edible scene of Har Gerizim and Har Eival.

The answer to last week's riddle was that human beings were made in Hashem’s image. Rashi compares this to two twins one of whom became a king and one became a robber. ADAS TORAH TZEDAKA FUND

Rabbi Revah is collecting funds to be distributed locally before Yom Tov. If you would like to contribute, you can donate through the Shul.

ZMANIM CALENDAR Adas Torah now has a calendar with the davening and halachic times for the whole year available on our website.

DAVENING GROUP FOR GIRLS Attention Girls 10 and Up: Would you like to daven in shul along with the minyan but have a hard time following? Basia Markman is in shul to help you!

HELPING OUT THE SHUL If you make any purchases with Amazon, please use AmazonSmile and register Adas Torah as your charity. This way Amazon will donate a portion of your purchase to Adas Torah.

SIYUM HASHAS AND NACH

Please check out our poster hanging in the lobby to see the commitments of Shas and Nach to be finished by next year’s dinner.

We hope that everyone in the shul will participate. You can commit to a perek or a whole masechta or any amount in between. Please go to our website to sign up or speak to Rabbi Revah or Brad Lipman for more information. You can also commit to something that has already been taken. The important thing is that everyone learn something.

NEW MINYANIM AT ADAS TORAH

Sunday morning minyan at 9:00 am.

NEW WEBSITE Please check out our new website at adastorah.org. You can sign into your account and update any information. Thank you to Evan Silver for his work in setting up and managing the site.

THURSDAY NIGHT MISHMAR With the start of Chodesh Elul and Yimei Teshuva, we have restarted Thursday night Mishmar at Adas Torah after a summer break. The Beis Medrash will be open from 8:30-10:00 with refreshments. Our program has been going well and it's beautiful to hear a Kol Torah in our beis medrash during the week. As we get closer to the Yomim Noraim, there's no better way to prepare than to increase our learning time. If you need help finding a chavrusa please be in touch with Michael Kleinman. Looking forward to having a strong Elul together! Rabbi Revah will give a Parsha Shiur for those who are interested at 9:35. Maariv will follow at 10:00 PM.

SHUL DECORUM We welcome all our members to join us Shabbos afternoon for learning and shiurim. However, please do not allow your children to run around the building unsupervised. It is unsafe and also disturbing to those trying to learn and daven.

Please respect Adas Torah’s commitment to a respectful davening experience and refrain from talking during davening and Krias Hatorah.

THE SHABBOS PROJECT 95 countries, 1150 cities, over 1 million participants and YOU. Jews around the world come together to celebrate Shabbat on Friday, Oct. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 as part of the Shabbat Project. Coming soon…theshabbosproject.org/la for events in your neighborhood and registration for The Shabbat Project Challah Bakes.

SHABBOS CHABURA Our ever-popular Shabbos Afternoon Chabura is back in full swing. The Chabura meets in shul every Shabbos, 45 minutes before Mincha and we take turns giving Halacha Chaburos with a new topic each week. Due to Rabbi Grama speaking there will not be a chabura this Shabbos. There are now more than 400 topics to choose from on the Olamot website! We would love to have new members join and give Chaburos or just to come and listen. Please see olamot.net/shiurim for the list of topics, and please speak to Rabbi Revah or Moshe Neiman ([email protected]) if you are interested in joining.

The Chabura is sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Wohlgelernter, l’zecher nishmas HaRav Shmuel Koppel ben HaRav Shalom Pinchas zt”l.
