PREFACE

Hello,

Greetings from Edventure family!!!

We take this opportunity to introduce ―Edventure Academy‖, an initiative by a team of experienced

IITians. The IITs/AIIMs are the most prestigious institutes of our country. Getting into IITs/AIIMs has

been the toughest challenge for every student. At Edventure, we believe that every child is unique.

In this competitive world, every student has to deal with the pressure of performing well. We

understand each child has a different set of skills and talent which needs to be nurtured. The

learning phase of one’s life is a constantly evolving phase which is very critical in molding the future.

We as parents and teachers need to mentor them in realizing their dream to come true.

We promote rigorous learning and personalized touch to every student (Small batches of 12

students only). We ensure continuous testing of every student to help them perform better. Small

batch size facilitates one-on-one student-teacher interaction. Our online resource system provides

sufficient study material to the child for self-practice and evaluation.

Our faculty team is a well knit family who are motivated to give their best to frame the future of your

child. Most of our team members are experienced IIT graduates who are entirely dedicated towards

a student’s career. Our consistent efforts will ensure that every student has a positive learning curve

in the future.

We have established Edventure with a zeal to innovate, educate and impart the best quality training

to our students. With our team, we strive to give your child nothing less than the best. Lastly, I would

like to quote Nelson Mandela who once said that ―Education is the most powerful weapon which you

can use to change the world.‖

Looking forward to accomplish a bright future for your child!!!

COMPETITIVE EXAMS AT SCHOOL LEVEL:

At School level, there are various competitive exams which helps to identify the scholastic talent in

students. Identifying their skill level earlier is not the same as putting pressure on a student to

suddenly turn into a prodigy. In fact, Preparing for competitive exams is about helping your child be

the best he can.

The focus of competitive exams is to impart factual knowledge and develop the required intellectual

skills to apply that knowledge. The curriculum of these exams aims to concretize what was already

learnt and takes the students to the next level. This develops the ability for independent work, and

objective thinking in students. Appearing in these competitive exams also brings a discipline in most

students.

Most competitive exams follow a combination of an aptitude component and subject knowledge

component. The aptitude component is based on raw problem solving skills, analytical ability i.e. not

directly related to school curriculum. The question format also tests logical thinking. The subject

knowledge component focuses on advanced extension of regular mathematics and science school

curriculum that can be mastered only by regular practice.

diseases and their treatment – the science of medicine – and also a decent competence in its

applied practice – the art or craft of medicine.

DEGREE AWARDED: Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery engineering (M.B.B.S) is awarded upon successful

completion of the course which is of 5.5 years. Bachelor of dental surgery (B.D.S) is a professional

after M.B.B.S or Master of dental sciences (M.D.S) and gain further specialization. Course duration

is 3years.

WHY CHOOSE MEDICAL? Medicine is not necessarily for everyone. It is a challenging and often gruelling process. Not only is

the workload much greater than a lot of other degree disciplines, but the job itself, certainly in the

early, clinical stages, is challenging on both an intellectual and psychological level. Potential doctors

can be motivated by a sense of altruism ( practise of concern for the welfare of others), because of

academic achievement in the sciences, or because of their admiration for relatives or family friends

already working in the field. Among the reasons why people decide to become doctors, are the

desire for a steady career, a healthy pay-packet and a respected status in society.

CAREER PATH: For a professional course in medicine or dentistry, you have to pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry

and Biology to apply for the competitive entrance examination.

Admission in medical colleges is through a general, nationwide competitive examination. The All

India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Exam conducted by the CBSE is common for both the

MBBS and the BDS. There are also private colleges that admit students on an all India basis. But to

be eligible for practice, you must ensure that the course chosen is approved by the Medical/Dental

Council of India.

JOB SCENARIO / FUTURE PROSPECTS: Excellent employment opportunities are available for physicians & dentists in medical & dental

departments in hospitals, nursing homes, dental clinics and health departments. You can also seek

a teaching job in any of the dental colleges spread across the country. Apart from this, as a

physician you can seek work in the research and advisory departments of pharmaceuticals.

Self-employment is also a promising avenue. With experience, you can start your own individual

clinic. Many doctors/dentists prefer private practice as it provides the best financial prospects along

with a greater level of independence.

Practical Learning: Learning by just textual reading is a great way to acquire specific skills, but it leaves peculiar gaps in one’s knowledge. Practical mode of learning, bridges those gaps, and is also a great way to make learning interesting and fun. The practical learning provides a platform which takes students beyond the text books. We, at Edventure, are firm believer that practical learning (i.e. the ability to do something) is just as important as academic learning (i.e. knowledge about something). Practical learning encompasses anything that helps someone master a skill or ability.

Multimedia Lectures: Multimedia based lectures of foundation builder gives student a better understanding of the subject. Multimedia based learning is an add-on to the traditional classroom teaching. Edventure is the only institute to offer the multimedia lectures for foundation building courses. A 2D or 3D visualization can illustrate complex concepts in a highly comprehensible way. Animated videos help for the better clarity and understanding of concepts of science. At the same time, it enhances the interest of students in studies.

Workshop: Edventure offers various workshops to students which help them in the development of many academic and life skills. Students learn various valuable academic strategies that will increase their confidence and improve skills necessary for a successful career. It helps in developing critical thinking and boosts the creativeness of students. The workshops that we conduct ranges from vedic mathematics, which helps students to do faster mental calculation to management & finance, which teaches a very important lesson of time and money management. Workshops like aero-modelling and robotics gives a hands-on experience over how things work. These workshops also help students in developing the aptitude towards the engineering and technology.

Science Project: As a part of curriculum, we float science projects for our students. The science project helps student to enhance the ability to learn concepts of science on their own. It is a good exercise where the students researches over a certain topic and make working model. Unlike schools science project, students are supposed to present their work in class and demonstrate the working.

Science Trip: We also take our students on a science trip to enhance the academic learning of students. A visit to a science museum or power plant is very useful to the students. This gives an exposure to real life applications of the academic curriculum to the students.

Mental Aptitude Development:

Aptitude is a natural talent for the performance of a particular mental task, which, to a certain extent, cannot be gained through knowledge, understanding or training. While focusing on the scholastic learning, aptitude development of students is neglected by the current education system.

For the proper and balanced learning with analytical and logical thinking, development of one’s mental aptitude is very important.
