Abstract The aims of this research were to synthesize nanosheets by hydrothermal method and study the effect of
nanosheets addition in polylactic acid on mechanical and light adsorption properties. Titanate nanosheets
were synthesized by hydrothermal method at 105 °C for 24 hours from Thai ilmenite mineral using a Thai
teflon-lined stainless steel autoclave. The as-synthesized nanosheets mixed with polylactic acid (PLA,
4043D) at the ratio of 0.2, 0.5, and 1 %. The mixed samples were tested Mechanical properties. The
prepared sample showed flower-like morphology with diameter of 2-5 `m. 100 nm to 2 `m in width and
   .. 2556 16-18 2556
several nanometers in thickness. No significant effects of nanosheets addition on tensile strength
hardness and Impact strength were observed. Films of the mixed samples were prepared by blow film
extrusion. The prepared films could adsorbed ultraviolet and visible wavelength.
