There are no lectures and no teaches, just a welcome session at the beginning of the course and a wrap up session at the end. This is useful information to represent yourself in the forum postings. Log out of the platform option is situated next to your Name in the right top corner. Welcome to the Functional Training 1. This course is based on a self­study model with anestimated 40h student dedication required. Your studies can begin as soon as you have receivedaccess to the university platform and registered for the Openbravo instance. There are nolectures and no teaches, just a welcome session at the beginning of the course and a wrap upsession at the end. During your studies your questions can be entered in a forum that will beanswered within 24 hours by the teacher of the course during business hours. You canparticipate in the chat session for more interactive contact with the teacher and other studentsthat participate in the chat.

After logging in the university platform you are presented with the following screen:

You see the: List of courses you have access to Calendar with upcoming events related to your courses Clicking your Name in the top right corner enables you to edit your profile information.

This is useful information to represent yourself in the forum postings. Log out of the platform option is situated next to your Name in the right top corner.

1. Below you will find instructions how to register for on demand, an instance of OpenbravoProfessional edition running on a virtual server in the cloud with simple monthly fee peractive user and no long term commitment. Find more information in theOpenbravo_On_Demand_FAQ;Using the username/password of Openbravo/openbravo, you can log in and use theapplication when exercises need to be executed. DO NOT CHANGE THE OPENBRAVOPASSWORD! Also do not install any modules to the application unless explicitlyspecified in the exercise; no support will be provided for environments that have additionalmodules installed by the student.Note:Significantly altering the demo data will result in the failing of exercises. Students areadvised to test in local instances or after successfully completing all exercises.

2. The content of the course is listed in the middle section, arranged by topic.3. Any news, notes or important events will be announced in the Latest News section on

the top right hand side, so keep an eye on this section.4. Live chat can be attended by clicking the link. For the live chats, please enter your full

name (first name/last name, e.g. RenateNieuwkoop) as a nickname. The chat is withoutsound, it is an online chat with the teacher. There is no fixed agenda for these live chats,students can bring up any topics that they want to discuss. There is no fixed schedulefor the live chats, the teacher will connect upon availability during European working hours.

The content is scheduled by topic, for example:

The course follows the business processes that are described in the WIKI. The start ofyour study should be by reading the documentation listed at the top of the section. Thisdocumentation contains theory, links to the WIKI documentation and exercises.

Exercises related to the topic need to be executed in the virtual environment, to which theteacher has access also. Based on the checkpoint that you have to submit, for examplea document number, the teacher can assess whether the exercise was executedcorrectly.

Any questions concerning the theory or the exercises can be posted in the Q&A section.Please give a clear topic and document number indication and post questions one by one,so that other students can easily keep track of questions already answered.

Depending on the section, there is also a quiz to test your knowledge about the topic.Results of the quizzes will be communicated by the end of the course.

The exercises indicate all the steps that need to be executed. Exercises are clearly marked asbeing exercises, for example:

any configuration that need to be executed the role that has to be used for the exercise Light green and bold words indicate documents/menu items of the application. You can

find them with the quicksearch in the application. Words in between square brackets [] refer to tab names, for example the [Lines] tab in a

Sales Order screen. Italic text is the actual content within an input or list box. This is the value you would be

looking for or typing in. when applicable, a checkpoint will be indicated, such as a document number that need to

be submitted. Based on these checkpoint, results of exercises will be reviewed andgraded.

On Demand Instance to execute the exercisesDuring this course, an Openbravo On Demand instance will be used to execute all theexercises of the course.At the same time, an Openbravo instructor will access this online instance when troubleshootingany problems you may come across.We recommend you start by glancing over the FAQ:http://wiki.openbravo.com/wiki/Openbravo_On_Demand_FAQ

To start an InstanceAs part of this course, access to a free Openbravo 3 On Demand instance is provided for aperiod of 4 weeks. To start it one, follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to one of the two sign up links below, depending on the your geographic regioncloser to the datacenter:

a. Europe: https://eu.ondemand.openbravo.com/signUp/customer?campaign=143b. North America:

https://www.ondemand.openbravo.com/signUp/customer?campaign=197Fill in the Sign Up page using your company details.

Note: If we cannot match the started instance to our partner and/or student information, theinstance will be shutdown so make sure you use the same details as the ones you used to signup for the course.

1. When choosing the Application Address, please use the concatenation of your FirstName + Last name, all in lowercase and no space, e.g.:

This way, the Openbravo instructor will easily recognize your instances and help you outif you get stuck.Note: This address also helps us match free instances with student accounts. If you donot follow the Application Address rule above, it may happen that your instance will beshutdown!

2. Confirm using the Sign Me Up! button and receive an email and a message:

1. Note: Even though the instance installation time is displayed and usually within a fewminutes range, please keep in mind that the time between installation and fullavailability could be up to 30 minutes!

2. Wait until the instance availability confirmation email arrives (this is the second emailyou will receive, not the first one!):

Congratulations, your Openbravo On Demand instance has been successfully deployed!

The ApplicationClicking on the link in the email above will take you to the Openbravo 3 application with itsstandard username/password combination: Openbravo/openbravo.Note: Do not change the password of this user in case an Openbravo instructor needs to log inand troubleshoot your instance!

This application will also be used by the instructor to verify your checkpoints and troubleshoot incase of problems.

Extension of the instance

If after 4 weeks of free On Demand instance access you would like to extend it and continuebeing able to access it, please follow the steps:

1. Log into your management console2. Click the My Account option in the top right corner

3. Pick the Add Payment option from the Edit dropdown4. Enter your credit card details

Closing/Terminating the InstanceIf you complete the course ahead of the 4 week instance availability period and are not interestedin extending its life by paying for it, we would appreciate you close it by following these steps:

1. Log into your management console2. Click the My Account option in the top right corner

3. Pick the Change Plan option from the Edit dropdown4. Click the Cancel and close my account button
