    1 Inspection

    .1 Refer to CCA 17, GC 2.3.

    .2 Allow the Consultant access to Work. If part of Work is in preparation at locations other than Place ofWork, allow access to such work whenever it is in progress.

    .3 Give timely notice requesting inspection if work is designated for special tests, inspections or approvals bythe Consultant, or the law of the Place of Work.

    .4 If the Trade Contractor covers or permits to be covered work that has been designated for special tests,inspections or approvals before such is made, the Trade Contractor shall uncover such work, haveinspections or tests satisfactorily completed and make good such work.

    .5 The Construction Manager or the Consultant may order any part of the Work to be examined if work issuspected to be not in accordance with the Contract Documents. If, upon examination, such work is found

    not in accordance with the Contract Documents, the Trade Contractor shall correct such work and pay thecost of examination and correction.

    2 Independent Inspection Agencies

    .1 Independent Inspection/Testing Agencies will be engaged by the Construction Manager for the purpose ofinspecting and/or testing portions of the Work. The cost of such services will be borne by the Owner.

    .2 Provide equipment required for executing inspection and testing by appointed agencies.

    .3 Employment of inspection/testing agencies does not relax the Trade Contractor's responsibility to performthe Work in accordance with the Contract Documents.

    .4 If defects are revealed during inspection and/or testing, the appointed agency will request additionalinspection and/or testing to ascertain the full degree of the defect, the Trade Contractor shall:.1 correct defects and irregularities as advised by the Consultant at no cost to the Owner; and.2 pay costs for retesting and reinspection.

    3 Access to the Work

    .1 Allow inspection/testing agencies access to the Work and to off-site manufacturing and fabrication plants.

    .2 Co-operate to provide reasonable facilities for such access.

    4 Procedures

    .1 Notify the appropriate agency, the Constuction Manager and the Consultant in advance of requirement fortests, in order that attendance arrangements can be made.

    .2 Submit samples and/or materials required for testing, as specifically requested in the specifications.Submit with reasonable promptness and in an orderly sequence so as not to cause delay in the Work.

    .3 Provide labour and facilities to obtain and handle samples and materials on site. Provide sufficient spaceto store and cure test samples.

    5 Rejected Work

    .1 Refer to CCA 17, GC 2.4.

    .2 Remove defective Work, whether result of poor workmanship, use of defective products or damage andwhether incorporated in Work or not, which has been rejected by the Construction Manager or theConsultant as failing to conform to the Contract Documents. Replace or re-execute in accordance with theContract Documents.

    .3 Make good other Trade Contractor's work damaged by such removals or replacements promptly.

    .4 If in the opinion of the Consultant, it is not expedient to correct defective work or work not performed inaccordance with the Contract Documents, the Owner may deduct from the Contract Price the difference invalue between the work performed and that called for by the Contract Documents, the amount of whichshall be determined by the Consultant.

    6 Reports

    .1 Submit 4 copies of inspection and test reports to the Consultant.

    .2 Provide copies to the manufacturer or fabricator of material being inspected or tested.

    7 Tests and Mix Designs

    .1 Furnish test results and mix designs as may be requested.

    8 Mock-ups

    .1 Prepare mock-ups for work specifically requested in the specifications. Coordinate with applicable otherTrade Contractors to include for the work of all sections required to provide the mock-ups.

    .2 Construct in locations acceptable to the Construction Manager and the Consultant.

    .3 Prepare mock-ups for the Consultant's review with reasonable promptness and in an orderly sequence, soas not to cause any delay in the Work.

    .4 Failure to prepare mock-ups in ample time is not considered sufficient reason for an extension of ContractTime and no claim for extension by reason of such default will be allowed.

    .5 Remove mock-ups not designated to remain as part of the Work, at the conclusion of the Work or whendirected by the Construction Manager.

    .6 Individual specification sections identify whether mock-up may remain as part of the Work or if they are tobe removed.

    9 Mill Tests

    .1 Submit mill test certificates as requested and as required by specification sections.

    10 Equipment and Systems

    .1 Submit adjustment and balancing reports for mechanical, electrical and building equipment systems.
