From the lakeside city of Como to the many splendours of Rome, this tour encompasses many of Italy's most famous cities, comfortably & conveniently by high-speed rail.

Day 1 & 2 Milan | Como On arrival in Milan you will be met and transferred by private car to your Como hotel for check-in. Settle in and then it's time to explore Como at your leisure; relax in the cafes, people watch, drink pure Italian coffee, and absorb the history and elegance of your new surroundings. The remainder of today, and all day tomorrow, is free to relax and explore on your own. (B)

Day 3 Como | Venice This morning make your way to Como's rail station to board your train for the journey east to Venice. Once you arrive in Venice you will be met and guided to your motor-launch & transferred to your hotel. Comprising of more than a hundred small islands, a hundred and fifty canals and more than four hundred bridges, Venice is built like no other city in the world and your afternoon is free to start your exploration of this fascinating city. Day 4 Venice This morning an experienced guide will escort you through the millennium of life of the Serenissima Republic. Starting at Piazza San Marco where you will admire its most important monuments, walk through Venice's meandering alleys to Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo before returning through the Mercerie, a vital connection between Rialto Bridge and San Marco and the main street for the city shopping, to San Marco Square. The tour continues with a guided visit of the Palazzo Ducale. The remainder of the day is free to pass as you please. (B)

Day 5 Venice | Florence This morning a guide will lead you to the train station to board a high-speed train to Florence. Sit back and enjoy watching the scenery change as you travel from Veneto through Emilio Romagna to Tuscany. arriving in Florence you will be met and transferred to your hotel by private car. Check-in to your hotel and now it's time to start discovering Florence on your own. (B)

Day 6 Florence This morning enjoy a guided tour of the "Cradle of the Renaissance" - Florence. Start with a drive along the romantic Viale dei Colle up to Piazzale Michelangelo for a fantastic panoramic view of the city. Then a guided walking tour of the historic centre including a visit to the duomo complex, Giotto's Belltower and the ancient Baptistery with its bronze door, before finally arriving to the renowned Galleria dell'accademia to admire the famous david by Michelangelo and other great works. The remainder of the day is yours to spend as you please. (B)

Day 7 Florence | Pisa or Chianti | Florence Today the choice is yours whether to spend the afternoon on a visit to Pisa or enjoy a visit to the Chianti area. Both tours take place during the afternoon with the Pisa tour being a splendid excursion through the Tuscan countryside to the historic university city of Pisa. Or, if Chianti is your choice you’ll travel to the most suggestive areas of Tuscany, known all over the world for its wine and its countryside of unrivalled charm. This tour includes a visit to an ancient hamlet complete with a snack and tasting of its prestigious wines. an early evening return to Florence is planned. (B)

Day 8 Florence | Rome Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before a private car transfer whisks you to the railway station to board a high-speed train with reserved seating to Rome where, on arrival a private car will take you to your hotel. (B)

Day 9 Rome Join us, today, on a small-group walking tour of the Vatican Museums and St Peter's Basilica. With 2000 rooms filled with the most extensive collection of art in the world plus the marvel of the Sistine Chapel. admire the imposing beauty of Saint Peter’s Basilica & experience the beauty of the world famous sculpture La Pietà. The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square and the remainder of the day is yours. (B)

Day 10 Rome Today you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some time to explore Rome on your own. Your afternoon tour begins with an arrival at Piazza Venezia, before continuing by foot to the famous Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo with a fantastic view of the Roman Forum. Your coach will then continue past the Circus Maximus and the pyramid of Caius Cestius before arriving at the Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls (visit inside). The tour will be completed with a visit inside the imposing Coliseum. (B)

Day 11 Rome | Pompeii | Sorrento Today an early morning departure sees you travelling to Naples by coach where our local guide will escort you on a walking tour of the historical centre to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, Galleria of Umberto and the San Carlo Opera house. The tour then continues to Pompeii for lunch in a local restaurant & a visit to the excavations of this ancient Roman city destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 BC. Then on to Sorrento for check-in & dinner at your hotel. (B.l.d)

Day 12 Sorrento | Capri | Rome after breakfast at hotel you'll depart by boat for a full-day tour to the island of Capri. The tour includes a visit of the augustus Garden and a stop at the famous Piazzetta, a visit of Anacapri with its magnificent views and some time at leisure. after lunch at a local restaurant, it is back to Marina Grande to board the return steamer and proceed to Rome by coach, with arrival time at approximately 9:00pm. Day 13 Rome Today you have an entire day to discover Rome on your own perhaps returning to one of the many places visited during your guided tours or visit one of the many famous shopping areas that Rome has to offer. (B)

Built on the River Cher in the loire Valley, the Château de Chenonceau is a masterpiece of 16th-century Renaissance architecture. Day 4 Paris | avignon after breakfast at your hotel make your way to Paris Gare Lyon to board a high-speed train for a journey of just over 2 & a half hours to Avignon. Named the City of the Popes, Avignon retains the indelible mark of the Popes' stay in the city, which was for a while the capital of the Medieval world. Make your way to your hotel for check-in and the remainder of the day to pass as you choose. (B)

Day 5 avignon Today you’ll enjoy a full-day small-group tour of Provence. You’ll be picked-up at your hotel and whisked off to discover the most beautiful monuments & spots in Provence starting in Avignon at St. Benezet Bridge & Pont du Gard plus a visit to the best preserved aqueduct of the Roman period. Day 7 Monaco, Monte Carlo & Eze Today’s small-group tour takes you to Monaco, Monte Carlo & Eze. Continue to St andrews and during a town walk, your guide will tell you more about its past and more recent history. Your afternoon visit will be at the house of dun near Montrose. This beautiful Georgian house, overlooking Montrose Basin, was built in 1730. On route to aberdeen you will make a photo stop at dunnottar Castle, where they filmed hamlet’s Macbeth and provided inspiration for Disney Pixar’s movie “Brave”. From here you continue to Thainstone house hotel where you will stay for 2 nights.

Day 2 Royal Deeside Today will be spent in the Royal deeside area, famous for its many castles. Your first visit will be Castle Fraser, one of the grandest of the Scottish baronial tower houses. The tour continues to Banchory where you might be able to see salmon jumping at the Falls of Feugh. lunch stop is at Ballater. Crathes Castle provides the highlight for the afternoon. Return to Reims & free time to explore Reims' Notre dame Cathedral where many of the Kings of France were crowned and Palais Du Tau. Later we head to the city of amiens for our next two nights. (B)

Day 4 amiens | Rouen | Honfleur | amiens Today we head west to discover Rouen, the capital of upper Normandy with its Medieval old town & cathedral. Our route then continues to the

Day 4 Rome | Pompeii | Sorrento an early morning departure sees your tour heading south to Sorrento, with a stop en route in Pompeii where you'll enjoy a guided visit to the excavations of this ancient Roman city which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 BC and buried under a deep layer of ash & stones. Free time for lunch on your own, before continuing to Sorrento. Settle into your hotel and, in the late afternoon, set out again for a sunset walking tour to discover Sorrento's historical centre. Then enjoy an aperitif at Piazza Tasso before dinner which will be served in a local restaurant in the heart of Sorrento. (B.d)

Day 5 Sorrento (Capri) Today you'll have the opportunity to visit the magical Isle of Capri accompanied by an experienced guide (optional tour). Capri is an enchanting and picturesque island and always a favorite with Roman emperors, the rich

Day 6 amalfi Drive a day to remember visiting one of the most in intriguing coastlines of the world! Stop for a visit to a wine cellar in a typical and suggestive atmosphere, tasting wines and some local products like ham, cheese & salami. Proceed to Pienza, the Renaissance “ideal town” built by Pope Pius II and well-known for its Pecorino cheese. Then to Siena to enjoy a visit of the old city centre, walking along the Medieval streets to admire the splendid palaces and spectacular cathedral. Day 4 Siena | San Gimignano | Chianti Region | Lucca | Pisa | La Spezia Morning departure for San Gimignano, a tiny hilltop city that has remained intact through the centuries & famous for its numerous towers, frescoes and other art treasures. You will then proceed to Tavernelle Val di Pesa located within the Chianti Classico “Gallo Nero” region, where we will make a stop at the farmhouse la Tancia, to enjoy a tasting of its excellent wines & local food. PayMENT: Payment must be made through your travel agent by cheque or with the following credit cards: VISa, MasterCard, american Express or diners Card. If you make a payment with a credit card, CIT Tours will appear as the vendor on your statement and not the travel agency. Verbal authorization via your travel agent, to use your credit card for deposit and/or final payment indicates your compliance with our terms and conditions, whether or not you have signed the appropriate draft. The travel agent is responsible for securing and retaining a signature on file. In the event that a cardholder refuses to honour a charge, CIT will hold the travel agent of record responsible for the full amount.

Full payment is required 45 days prior to commencement of services. Reservations made within 45 days of commencement must be accompanied by full payment.

CIT reserves the right to cancel bookings where payment has not been received within five days of the due date.

CaNCELLaTIoNS: The intention to cancel must be communicated in writing to your travel agent. Cancellation penalties will be calculated based on the time notification is received by CIT and are as follows:

CHaNGES/REVISIoNS To BookINGS: CIT will make every effort to accommodate requests for changes or revisions to bookings. Change fees apply as follows:

ALL TOUR PACKAGES – changes made more than 14 days prior to departure - $50. No changes are possible less than 14 days prior to departure.

VILLAS & APARTMENTS – changes made more than 75 days prior to departure - $60. Changes made at any other time will be considered as a cancellation and incur the appropriate cancellation fees.

hOTEl – more than 14 days prior to departure - $50. Changes less than 14 days prior will be considered as a cancellation and incur the appropriate cancellation fees.

CaR - more than three days prior to departure - $50. Changes less than 3 days prior to departure will be considered a cancellation and incur the appropriate cancellation fees.

In the event that changes result in occupancy changes due to the cancellation of one or more passengers the remaining passengers shall be responsible for the new occupancy rate.

PRICE INCREaSES: all prices advertised in the brochure are calculated using fixed costs at the time of publication. These costs are dependent on fuel costs, rates of exchange and other factors and should these change the Tour Operator reserves the right to increase the price. however, should a price increase be greater than 7% the consumer has the right to cancel the contract for travel services and be refunded the total amount paid to the Tour Operator, unless the increase is as a result of Government imposed taxes or fuel surcharges approved by the Canadian Transportation agency.

CaNCELLaTIoN oF SERVICES: The Tour Operator will have no responsibility beyond the refund of all monies received in the event of certain services being cancelled. The refund will be deemed to constitute full and final settlement.

HoTEL RaTINGS: CIT TOuRS has no control over the official star grading appointed to each hotel, as in Europe hotels are allocated their star grading by the Regional Tourist authority, based on certain predetermined criteria. We have indicated this grading next to each hotel’s description. The official star rating and price will give a good indication of the standard and range of facilities you can expect. air-conditioning is often controlled by each hotel and restricted according to weather conditions or available mid-June to mid- September only.

TouR oPERaToR RESPoNSIBILITy: The Tour Operator (herein referred to as CIT) takes great care in making arrangements with suppliers of services (i.e.: airlines, hotels, ground transportation companies, cruise lines, etc.), which together form the travel services you have purchased. CIT acts solely as agents for suppliers, the suppliers are independent parties over which CIT exercises no direct control. CIT shall not be liable for any claims, losses, damages, costs, expenses, delays or loss of enjoyment of any nature or kind whatsoever, to you or your travelling companions or group members, resulting from the acts, omissions or negligence of anyone other than us or our employees acting properly on our behalf. law, tariffs or conditions on tickets may also limit suppliers’ liability and in particular, you should read and understand the limitations of liability set forth in the airline ticket or cruise documentation. a travel agent who sells or offers to sell travel services to a customer shall promptly provide the customer(s) a copy of the CIT travel brochure. The agent shall inform the passenger of the need to read the terms and conditions of this brochure. We strongly recommend that you consider the various types of insurance products offered by CIT.

NoTICE To TRaVELLERS: Travellers should be aware that different living standards and practices may exist outside of Canada including but not limited to: provision of utilities, e.g. water and electricity; air-conditioning; accommodations; services of all kinds; food; food preparation; and water quality. CIT shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury resulting from different living standards.

DoCuMENTaTIoN: Travel documents are issued and sent to your travel agent no later than 14 days prior to departure. For reservations that include hotel accommodation, excursions, tours, villas and/or a car rental a voucher is provided in order for you to receive the services booked. It is your responsibility to obtain, at your expense, all documentation required by the relevant government authorities, including those for your return to Canada. Ask your travel agent for details. Customs and / or immigration officials, at their own discretion, can deny a traveller entry into their country. CIT cannot be held responsible for denied entry under any circumstances.

REFuNDS: No refunds or adjustments will be made for any portion of the trip or attendant services not taken or used.

CuSToMER SERVICE: CIT must be given every opportunity to resolve customer complaints in destination. all concerns must be addressed to the supplier’s customer service department in Europe (contact details are supplied with tickets). Only unresolved Customer Service issues, which were properly addressed in Italy, can be submitted in writing within 30 days after termination of scheduled travel dates. Claims or demands received after 30 days will not be responded to. Please allow 90 days for processing and include any unused documents with correspondence. all correspondence must be directed through the travel agent of record.

CIT is not responsible for any representations made by Travel agents, hotel employees or suppliers of any kind. No agent or representative of CIT may waive any provisions of these Terms & Conditions. The invalidity of any provision contained herein shall not affect the validity of any other provision.
