ABSTRACT

Penyakit kanker timbul aibat kondisi fisik yang tidak normal sertapola makan dan pola hidup yang tidak sehat, meskipun kanker diketahuibisa diturunkan oleh orang tua kepada anaknya. Wanita cukup rentanterhadap serangan penyakit kanker, terutama organ reproduksi sepertirahim, indung telur dan vagina. Kemoterapi merupakan salah satumodalitas pengobatan pada kanker secara sistemik yang sering dipilihterutama untuk mengatasi kanker stadium lanjut, lokal maupun metastatis.

Kemoterapi sangat penting dan dirasakan besar manfaatnya karenabersifat sistemik mematikan/membunuh sel-sel kanker dengan carapemberian melalui infuse, dan sering menjadi pilihan efektif dalammengatasi kanker terutama kanker stadium lanjut lokal.

Cancers is caused by abnormal physical condition and unhealthydiet and lifestyle although cancer is kno!n to be passed do!n fromparents to their children. Women are "uite vulnerable to cancer attack,especially !omen#s reproductive organs such as the uterus, ovaries andvagina. Chemotherapy is a systemic cancer treatment. Chemotherapy isvery important and beneficial for it has a systemic lethal that kill cancercells by !ay of infusion, and often the choice especially effective in

treating locally advanced cancer.$his study aims to find out relationship bet!een kno!ledge of

cancer patients and chemotherapy %& Pirngadi 'eneral (ospital )edanin *+. $ype of research is analytic survey !ith cross-sectional studydesign. $he populations !ere respondents and samples !ere respondents. $he samples in this study !ere dra!n by using totalsampling techni"ue. %ata !ere processed and analy0ed using Chi-s"uaretest.

1ased on these results, it is found that there is a relationshipbet!een kno!ledge of cancer patients and chemotherapy in 'eneralhospitals of %& Pirngadi )edan in *+ !here the calculation result

cancer patients and chemotherapy. )edical personnels are e9pected toprovide counseling at an early stage of cancer treatment, especiallychemotherapy.
