The Petitioner Thiru P. Samikkannu was present for today's
(24.09.2009)
enquiry. The Public Authority was represented by the Public
Information Officer
Thiru A. William Sylvester Louis Raj, Headquarters Deputy
Tahsildar, Manapparai
Taluk office, Trichy.
Under the RTI Act 2005 sec.6(1) the petitioner sent a petition
dated 27.12.08
addressed to the PIO (Taluk office, Manapparai) seeking
information on 7 items and
also made an application dated 26.12.08 addressed to the PIO
(Collectorate, Trichy)
requesting him to provide copies for two documents. As there was
no
communication from the PIO, the petitioner preferred an appeal
to the Appellate

Authority on 02.4.09 and filed the 2nd Appeal under sec.19(3) to
the Commission on
27.6.09. On the basis of the petitioner's second Appeal to the
Commission both the
Petitioner and the PIO were summoned to appear before the
Commission for today's
hearing. At the enquiry, it is understood that the PIO forwarded
the petitioner's
petition to the concerned PIO on 13.02.09 asking the Tahsildar
to furnish the
requested copies for two documents to the petitioner. The
petitioner informed the
Commission, so far no reply has been received from the
Tahsildar, Manapparai.
During the enquiry the PIO has furnished the information on 7
items to the
petitioner and submitted the same copy to the Commission. The
Appellate
Authority, Tahsildar Manapparai is directed to provide the
requested information with
regard to providing copies for two documents requested by the
petitioner on or
before 23.10.09 and send a compliance report to the Commission
on or before
30.10.09.
