    Overdosage:

    Manifestations:Theprincipalmanifestationofephedrinesulfatepoisoningisconvulsions.Inacute

    poisoningthefollowingsignsandsymptomsmayoccur:nausea,vomiting,chills,cyanosis,irritability,

    nervousness,fever,suicidalbehavior,tachycardia,dilatedpupils,blurredvision,opisthotonos,spasms,

    convulsions,pulmonaryedema,gaspingrespirations,comaandrespiratoryfailure.Initiallythepatient

    mayhavehypertension,followedlaterbyhypotensionaccompaniedbyanuria.

    Treatment:Ifrespirationsareshalloworcyanosisispresent,artificialrespirationshouldbe

    administered.Vasopressorsarecontraindicated.Incardiovascularcollapsebloodpressureshouldbe

    maintained.
