JERUSALEM COUNCIL—ACTS 15

While Paul and Barnabas were at Antioch of Syria, some men from Judea arrived and began to teach the believers: “Unless you are circumcised as required by the law of Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2 Paul and Barnabas disagreed with them, arguing vehemently. 

PHILIPPIANS 3 NLT

Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. I never get tired of telling you these things, and I do it to safeguard your faith.2 Watch out for those dogs, those people who do evil, those mutilators who say you must be circumcised to be saved. 3 For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort, 4 though I could have confidence in my own effort if anyone could. Indeed, if others have reason for confidence in their own efforts, I have even more!

I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

We are saved, not by following a list of do’s & don’ts, but by Christ through faith.

Faith, though, is not just: Believing Jesus is who he said he was,

or Asking Jesus into my heart or to forgive my sins.

Faith is entrusting my whole life to God, making doing God’s will the #1 goal of my life. (“Take up your cross daily and follow me.”)

The evidence of that kind of faith—true faith—is a life that is being obviously transformed into Christlikeness.
