HattoriRacingHattori Racing Enterprises was founded in 2009 by Shigeaki Hattori, to give young drivers a chance to develop their talents and gain experience in quality equipment with a skilled and knowledgeable team.

A Championship driver himself, Hattori earned the Formula Toyota title in Japan in 1994 then moved to the United States in 1995 where he competed in the Indy Racing League’s Indy Lights and IndyCar Series. Hattori also raced in the Toyota Atlantic Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Hattori has been involved in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East the last two years helping other teams and even fielded a part-time effort in the ARCA Remax Series in the past. 2012 marks the first year Hattori will race a full series schedule on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series with his own cars and team. HRE also plans to run select ARCA RemaxSeries races this season.

Hattori Racing Enterprises has 12 employees and is located in Mooresville, NC in one of two buildings on a 3-acre campus. A state of the art location with 25,000 square feet of shop space, paint and body shop, multiple surface plates and a chassis dyno.

Brett Moffitt

BioBrett Moffitt is proud of his past, excited about the present and preparing for the future.

The 19-years old Grimes, Iowa native has competed on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for the last three seasons. In 33 starts, he has seven wins, four pole positions, 20 Top-5 and 24 Top-10 finishes with an average finish of 8th. He has ended each season on the Championship podium finishing 3rd in both 2009 and 2011 and 2nd

in 2010. More impressive yet is that Moffitt enjoyed this success with three different teams over that three year span speaking volumes for his individual talent behind the wheel.

Moffitt’s excitement for the present is due to his recent signing with newly formed, Hattori Racing Enterprises and the announcement he will contend for a Championship behind the wheel of the #11 HRE Toyota Camry.

The 2012 K&N schedule lends itself to Moffitt’s future preparations as a Michael Waltrip Development Driver. The series will compete on six tracks that host NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide or Camping World Truck Series races providing valuable race experience for the young driver.

Moffitt has proven himself in the past, he is ready to contend for the Championship in 2012 and knows that by racing his best week after week, the experience he gains will prepare him for his future.

Career Highlights• 2011 -Tied for the K&N Pro Series East lead with

three victories. 12 starts, three wins, one pole, eight top-5 and 8 top-10 finishes. 3rd in the championship standings. Drove for Michael Waltrip Racing.

• 2010 - Won the inaugural NASCAR K&N Pro Series East stand-alone race at Martinsville for Joe Gibbs Racing. 10 starts, two wins, two poles, six top-5 and 7 top-10 finishes. Finished 2nd in the Championship standings.

• 2009 – Is youngest pole winner in K&N Pro Series East earning the pole in his first series start at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. 11 starts, two wins, one pole, six top-5 and 9 top-10 finishes. Finished 3rd in the Championship points standings. Drove for Andy Santerre Motorsports.

• 2008 - Earned five wins on the ASA Late Model Series finished 2nd in the Championship points standings.

• 2007 –Scored 26 Dirt Modified wins. Finished in the top-5 80% of the races entered. Won the 2007 Harris Clash title, becoming the youngest driver in history to accomplish that feat.

Sergio Peña

BioSergio Peña is your typical 19 year-old. He is a full-time college student, he hangs out with his friends, he works out at the gym and he studies. But, while his college friends spend the summer working or playing, Peña will be chasing his dream behind the wheel of the #1 Hattori Racing Enterprises Toyota Camry in his contention for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Championship in 2012.

Peña made a huge impression on the racing world in 2010 when he entered his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series race at the Toyota All-Star Showdown in Irwindale, CA. He won the Pole, and finished 2nd to 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series “Rookie-of-the-Year” Joey Logano.

Peña spent his rookie season in 2010 learning the tracks and the cars and in 2011 he came of age winning three races in one season. In 22 series starts, Pena scored three wins, four top-5 and 10 top-10 finishes. His average start is 7th and his average finish is 13th.

The 2012 season marks a new beginning for Peña who joined a brand new team in Hattori Racing. Together, they will tackle a 14-race schedule at many tracks the NASCAR Sprint Cup visits. At the end of season, Peña hopes his summer break is anything but that of a typical 19-year old. When he starts back to college in the fall, he hopes he can tell his friends he is a NASCAR Champion.

Career Highlights• 2011 -Tied for the K&N Pro Series East lead with

three victories. 12 starts, three wins, four top-5 and seven top-10 finishes. Finished 5th in the season point standings. Drove for Revolution Racing.

• 2010 - Earned the pole in his first NASCAR touring series race - the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown. 10 starts and three top-10 finishes.

• 2009 - Rookie season in the Late Model Division at Shenandoah Speedway; scored six wins at the quarter‐mile speedway before moving to Motor Mile Speedway mid‐way through the season.

• 2008 - Competed in the Bill Scott Formula Car road racing series at Summit Point in formula continental wing cars; won every race entered.

• 2007 - Finished second overall in the Formula TR Series standings; set seven track records and won 11 of 20 races.

• 2003 – 2006 - Competed in various WKA Kartingseries. Won several regional and national championships and won races in every class competed.
