After filing a lawsuit against Datel earlier in the year, HP now has Apex and Ninestar in i ts s ights. The Datel claim was about misappropriation of trade secrets concerning security chips in inkjet printer cartridges. Now, however, the OEM is suing Apex and Ninestar for patent infringement.

Apex was qu ick to act af ter the June lawsuit against Datel, officially distancing itself from the company. In September, the company released an article authored by an attorney that said the chips Apex produces deliberately avoid any suggestion of HP patent infringement. The article specifically mentioned the patents, and these are exactly the ones, plus a third one, that HP is now suing Apex -- and NInestar -- for allegedly infringing.

Apex has not been quiet about its chips; on the contrary, it has been advertising them loudly, with a particular focus on patent independence, listing the number of its patent experts and the number of patents it holds. In another instance, the company once again reminded the public of its devotion to patent protection by issuing a press release, in which it stated that the two HP patents that are now at the heart of the lawsuit have been the subject of a warning on the part of Apex about the dangers of infringing intellectual property rights. The occasion was the US Customs refused to allow into the US a delivery of inkjet printer consumables on IP infringement grounds.

Interestingly enough, HP does not name Apex among the defendants in its complaint, filed with the US District Court for the Northern Distr ict of California. Instead, it l ists the other Chinese company, Ninestar, and its subsidiaries, mentioning, however, that Apex sells its products in the US, and some of these products are in the line of HP's fire, namely chips for a number of HP printer lines, along with Ninestar ink cartridges. HP wants the court to issue a permanent injunction, make the defendants pay it damages, and cover attorney fees. No further details, such as the size of damages, are available at this point.

HP Splits into Two

Printing and technology major Hewlett-Packard announced plans to separate its operations into two public companies. One will focus on its printer and personal computer operations, while the other will deal with the corporate hardware and software services business of the giant. The printer and computer firm will be named Hewlett-Packard Enterprises, to be headed by current HP CEO Meg Whitman, and the other will be HP Inc, led by current executive vice president Dion Weisler.

The separation will take the form of a tax-free distribution of shares to current shareholders, which will take place in 2015. The transformation will also involve some 5,000 job cuts, savings from which will be used for research and development, the company said.

In an official statement, Whitman said that the separation will provide each of the two new companies with greater independence, more focused work, funding opportunities, and a flexibility that is necessary in the dynamic markets of modern day, ensuring a greater competitive advantage for the hardware and software, and the PC and printer businesses both.

Print-Rite Reaches a Settlement With Canon

The Print-Rite group, including Print-Rite N.A. In the second quarter of 2014, the Russian market for hardcopy per ipherals (HCP) contracted almost 15% in volume and more than 13% in value compared to the same period last year. For the specified period, more than 735,000 SF printers and MFPs were shipped.

The key reasons for the market decline are the ongoing slowdown of economic activity in the country and massive capital outflow resulting from the unstable political situation.

Shipments of laser devices decreased by around 20% in volume terms year on year. HP is the leading vendor in the laser segment, with over 40% market volume share, followed by Samsung and Kyocera Document Solutions. The negative market dynamics reflect the diminished purchasing power of consumers and m ic ro -bus ines ses i n a depres sed economic environment. Although medium-sized and large businesses are still financially capable of modernizing their HCP installed base, they are also focusing on efficiency and cost-saving production. Multifunctional devices with improved TCO are therefore preferred over SF devices in both the mono and color laser segments.

In Q2 2014, shipments of inkjet devices on the Russian market declined about 2% in volume year-on-year but increased in value terms by 16%. The recent region-wide trend on the inkjet market is one that sees most major vendors reducing focus on entry-level devices, which yield low profit margins despite high-volume shipment levels. Emphasis is shifting to sales of midrange or high-end devices that are capable of high-speed printing and promise low TCO (i.e., Epson's CISS system or HP's OfficeJet series).

"While overall market dynamics continued to be negatively affected by macroeconomic factors , the key t rends of the previous two quarters persisted," says Konstantin Makarenkov, senior analyst at IDC. "Namely, growth in the midrange color laser MFP segment, due to the increasing affordability (and low TCO) of these machines, as well as strong growth in the midrange and high-end inkjet segments. Both of these developments confirm end-user interest in the benefits to be gained from original CISS systems."

Chinese electronics conglomerate took this step last year but it went largely unnoticed in the West. The laser printer, said the

press release, was targeted at household users and it was integrated with Android devices. Although Lenovo has been

quiet for now, selling the printer on its home market only, there is no reason why it shouldn't turn its gaze to the global market at some point.

What the company needs to ensure success is make some investments in the development of the printer brand,

Legend, and be ready to take some risks. It already has a major advantage, and that is that it is a well-known brand. What's more,

it has already proven its potential for profitability with smartphones and computers, so printers are a natural direction, especially given

that the printing market is expected to grow over the next five years.

Despite a much lauded move to the digital channel, saving on paper and other consumables, the Middle East and

North Africa (MENA) are not giving up print. According to Xerox, the UAE is a core market for its products, and

there seems to be a good reason for this.

Figures from the International Data Corporation show that sales of printers in the region will

rise 6-8% until 2017. What's more, research from Smithers Pira has revealed that printing

revenues in MENA will grow at an average annual rate of 7.2% until 2018, reaching $26 billion

at the end of the period.

Among the main trends shaping the segment now are the increasing mobility of office staff, which is driving

print management services, the increasing popularity of multifunctional printing devices at the expense of single-

function printers, and the growing adoption of color printing at offices.

The market leaders in the printing industry are increasingly targeting their advertising messages at schoolchildren rather than at their parents. There is a good reason for this: schoolwork is increasingly digital, and the newest generations of printers are aimed at making all sorts of tasks as easy as possible, i .e., per fectly manageable by children. What's more, it's schoolwork that is the main reason for the existence of household printers today, and HP was the company that first woke up to the fact, starting to offer low-cost family printers specifically aimed at satisfying the educational needs of the children in the house. Now most printer makers are creating affordable, user-friendly models for family use.

China 3D Printer Sales Seen to Rise Fourfold by 2018

Sales of 3D printers in China are projected to reach 37,800 by 2018, a market four times bigger than this year, with revenue rising three times to $109 million, says Lux Research. The information is one more proof that China has no intention of missing out on the 3D printing boom, and it's actually intent on taking the biggest possible advantage of it.

Among the other findings of Lux Research is the fact that there is growing demand for high-end printing materials, including resins, metals, ceramics, and polymer powders. For now, the market is mainly export-oriented, with 60% of the 3D printers made in China shipped abroad. The local products' major advantage over already famous brands like MakerBot and Stratasys is their lower price.

As regards the industries that are adopting 3D printing in China, carmakers are in the lead. Due to its use as a prototyping technology, 3D printing for automakers is seen to grow by 31% every year until 2018. However, outside the industrial world, education will be the biggest market for 3D printers in China, boasting an annual growth rate of 39%, as the government encourages the adoption of the technology at schools and universities.

China Ready with Even Bigger 3D Printer

After last year releasing a 3D printer with a processing area of 1.80 m, China is now gearing up to reveal to the world an even bigger one -- a 3D printer capable of printing objects with a maximum diameter of no less than 6 m. And it will be able to print in metal, which basically means that any car's frame could be 3D printed on it, if all goes well.

it remains to be seen whether this monster of a printer would share the processing time specifications of the previous biggest printer: that one, created by a team headed by professor Yao Shan, used 35% less time thanks to its contour-scanning technology. Unlike other 3D printers, where processing time is tied to the volume of an item, with this one time is tied to the surface area of the item. In effect, professor Shan's printer could work 5 to 15 times faster than traditional ones.

It's clear that China is set on becoming a force to be reckoned with in the field of 3D printing. The government is investing heavily in the industry, and a host of companies are popping up all the time to take advantage of the booming market. betting on big could prove a very smart move for China, according to analysts.

NovaCopy Adds Direct Metal 3D Printers to Offering

NovaCopy, a technology reseller in the South of the US, has added to its offering 3D Systems’ ProX range of Direct Metal 3D printers. The ProX 100, 200, and 300 can print within hours a wide variety of items using 3D Systems’ patented laser melting technology. Among the items these printers can manufacture are aerospace parts, fixtures, tools, and molds, says NovaCopy’s president for 3D printing solutions Melissa Ragsdale.

The ProX product line can print using more than 15 different materials, including precious metals, alumina, stainless steel, tool steel, super alloys, and non-ferrous alloys. The accuracy of the printing process is compatible with the EN ISO 2768 (fine) machining tolerances and the printers boast repeatability of some 20 micron in all three axes.

3D Industry Seen to Reach $12.8 Bln by 2018

The latest Wohlers Report has estimated that the 3D printing market revenues will grow from $3.07 billion last year to as much as $12.8 billion by 2018. Just two years later, the market will top $21 billion. This is a significant upward revision from the Wohlers Report 2013, which had pegged the 3D market at $10.8 billion in 2021. The industry will grow at a compound annual grow rate of more than 31% over the next six years.

The main drivers behind this development are the expansion of 3D printing into an increasing number of applications, and the growing demand for “prosumer” models, low-priced 3D printers that could be used by both professionals and amateurs alike.

Within the sector, the companies best positioned to benefit from these developments are those that offer not just printers, but also printing services and materials. What’s more, the market is still very fragmented, with no clear leader, which opens up a host of opportunities for 3D printing startups. The biggest players are taking different approaches to growing their market share: from 3D Systems’ acquisition spree to Stratasys’ bet on high-margin 3D printing materials and the biggest Installed 3D printer base in the industry.

Even though all this may make investing in 3D printing a sure thing, such investments carry a significant risk, mainly because of the great potential for disruptions in the shape of patent expiry and the opportunities for major breakthroughs.

NASA Preparing to Send 3D Printer into Space

A small 3D printer produced by startup Made in Space will soon be sent to the International Space Station to test the concept of 3D printing in zero gravity. If the test is successful, astronauts will be able to print objects on site, rather than have them flown in on supply missions.

If proof of concept is obtained now, NASA will send to the ISS a bigger printer, the Additive Manufacturing Facility, which may become an essential element of space missions, allowing astronauts to 3D print tools and replacement parts.

3D Industry Drives Job Creation for Engineers, Developers

One of the fastest-growing industries, 3D printing, is hungry for talent, with demand for industrial and mechanical engineers, and software developers and industrial designers at a historic high. The figures are striking: the number of job postings featuring additive manufacturing skills has risen as much as 1,834% since 2010, and more than 103% over the 12 months to this August alone.

What’s perhaps more interesting is that these jobs are not all in 3D printing companies. As an increasing number of businesses from a variety of industries adopt additive manufacturing as part of their operations, people with skills and expertise in the field are in great demand. These are trends worth watching, as 3D printing skills gain growing importance in the overall job market.

Adobe to Take Part in London’s 3D Print Show

Adobe, which is sponsoring the London edition of the 3D print show, will have three full days of seminars at the event. These wil l feature introductory sessions for 3D printing, exploring the possibilities of Photoshop, and first-hand experience from professional 3D artists. The sessions are all half an hour long, allowing visitors to make the best of their time at the show.

University of Texas Students Make 3D Printing Vending Machine

A group of students from the University of Texas, Austin’s Cockrell School have devised a 3D printing vending machine called Innovation Station, which enables you to 3D print whatever you want, whether your own design or an already existing one, and for free.

The most remarkable feature of the machine is the process through which the printed item is removed from the printing area and placed in a receptacle. The process is currently pending a patent issue.

Autodesk, Stratasys among top 10 Companies in 3D Printing

The latest Appinions Industry Influence Study about the 3D printing sector has revealed the ten most influential companies in the business and the major trends in it. Based on analyzing more than 100 million articles, blogposts, and social media posts, the survey found that the 3D printing market is maturing fast, with attention shifting increasingly to retail, from industrial. It’s not surprising then, that a retail company, Amazon, has taken the second spot from the top.

First on the chart is Autodesk, and the top three is completed by Stratasys. 3D Systems is fourth, followed by Intel, General Electric, and Home Depot. Makerbot, which Stratasys recently bought, is eighth, and Local Motor and BAE Systems complete the top 10 list.

Tinkerine partners with SoftBank Commerce Korea

Canadian 3D pr inter maker T inker ine Studios has s igned a memorandum of understanding with Korea’s SoftBank Commerce for the distribution of its complete product line in the Asia-Pacific. The deal includes the Ditto Pro3D printer, the Tinkerine U education technology platform, and the company’s printer filament product line.

Aside from the distribution partnership, plans are for a long-term relationship with a view to expanding into education, retail, and enterprise. The relationship is very mutually beneficial. For the Canadian company it will mean a growing global footprint, and being in the company of firms like Microsoft, Autodesk, and Adobe, all clients of SoftBank Commerce.

HP Exec Downplays Importance of 3D Market

In a recent interview, HP’s executive vice president and chief technology officer Martin Fink made some comments that could raise eyebrows as the general tone is one of not really considering 3D printing a big deal.

For instance, Fink identifies as major problems of the industry the size of items that can be printed and the time it takes to print them. But that’s a vast exaggeration -- depending on the purpose of the item, printing times are often more than sufficiently short, and the size of the item depends on the size of the printer, after all, and these vary greatly already.

Another statement that sounds peculiar is that the consumer 3D printer market is too small, totaling no more than $30 million worldwide. While this may be the case with actual sales of consumer 3D printers since the start of 2014, it is definitely not the case with the total addressable market for these products, notes Gartner analyst Pete Basiliere.

HP itself is pursuing development in the 3D niche, which is why such comments seem somehow worrying. Fink added at the end of the interview that HO will be making some technology announcements later this fall but said no word about launching an actual 3D printer.

Static Control Launches More Than 50 Replacement Chips in Two Weeks

Toners, OPC Drum, Doctor Blade & More Also Released

Sanford, N.C. – (September 25, 2014) – Static Control has released more than 50 replacement chips for a wide variety of cartridges across multiple OEMs in the last two weeks, along with toners, an OPC drum, doctor blade and convenient conversion end plates for use in HP® M177 cartridges.

More than 40 replacement chips for use in Kyocera® cartridges for multiple printers, regions and yields were released, adding upon Static Control’s comprehensive offering for Kyocera® printers. Contact a Static Control sales representative for a full list of chip offerings. Also released were a large number of replacement chips for use in Olivetti® cartridges for multiple printers and yields.

Replacement chips were launched for use in Xerox® Phaser® 6700 cartridges in Latin America, Middle East/Africa and India. Three chips were launched for cartridges used in the Ricoh® SP 3410/3510 and 3400 series of printers. A Latin America regional chip was released for Okidata® C910 cartridges. A regional replacement chip for use in HP® 960XL was also launched for India, which features Static Control’s patented ink gauge technology.

Also launched this week were Odyssey® color toners for use in Samsung® CLT-x609S cartridges, which offers remanufacturers rich color saturation and performance similar to the OEM. This toner was developed to overcome fusing issues seen with other aftermarket offerings.

Now available is universal toner for use in Kyocera® TK-59x, TK-56X and TK-58x cartridges, which was specifically formulated and manufactured to match the OEM. This is important because toner from the previous cartridge mixes with the toner from the next cartridge in the imaging unit. Non-compatible toner can create excessive backgrounding during the mixing period.

An Odyssey® OPC drum was released for use in cartridges for Okidata® C9600. This replacement drum, when paired with Static Control’s OKIUNIV toner, provides OEM-comparable performance over the life of the cartridge.

A replacement doctor blade for use in cartridges for Dell® 5330printers was also released. This stainless steel doctor blade is more durable than other aftermarket offerings, and provides better overall image quality lasting for the cartridge life cycle.

Also released were conversion end plates for use in HP® M177 cartridges, which allow cartridges from the HP® CP1025 family (126A) to be used in the newer HP® M177 family of printers through a quick and easy conversion process.

Epson recently presented a new printer technology, the EcoTank, which has the potential to drive out cartridge-based inkjet printers. The EcoTank printers use customized tanks, attached to the sides of the printer, and, according to the company, have the capacity to go without recharging for two years. In print terms, the EcoTanks can do at least 4,000 monochrome and 6,500 color prints before needing to be refilled.

The main advantage of the tanks that new printer models EcoTank L355 and the EcoTank L55 use is the fact that anyone can refill them -- all it takes is to open the tank, pour the ink and close the lid. The devices are multifunctional, doubling as scanners, faxes, and copiers, too.

HP Launches Two Low-Cost Models

HP has released two new printer models from the Officejet Pro product range, aimed specifically at small and medium businesses, allowing them to take advantage of mobile printing capabilities and HP Instant Ink.

The inkjet printers, HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One and Officejet Pro 6230 ePrinter, offer laser printing quality at half the price, the company says. Its priority when developing the new models was to ensure they are not just low-cost but also low on maintenance expenses. This is what the Instant Ink system does -- it makes sure that ink is delivered exactly when it is needed and never runs out mid-page.

Economy is also the reason behind the automatic double-sided borderless print capability of the two new models, which allows for saving up to 50% on

paper. With regard to m o b i l e p r i n t i n g , t h e Officejet Pro 6830 and 6230 are compatible with HP wireless direct, ePrint, AirPrint, Android, Samsung inOS, and Goodle Cloud Print.

As printers gradually become smarter and smarter, fitted with wireless connectivity, software and other capabilities that are getting increasingly attractive to hackers, HP has been among the companies to not waste any time and boost the security of their printers.

Pr inter and document management security is no joke, given the number of devices that need to be made secure, and also given the fact that IT managers are already far too busy with keeping tabs on databases, application servers and individual devices. To illustrate, HP vice president and manager of HP’s new brand JetAdvantage, focusing on secure document management and workflow pr int ing, says that to date there are 200 million HP LaserJet printers used by businesses around the world.

Among the measures the print giant has taken to secure its devices are encrypted drives in new printers as well as encryption kits for older models. Also, HP has come up with a new range of secure printing software solutions, one of which is a new version of the Imaging and Printing Security Center platform. These solutions allow customers to manage the security level of their printing environment.

HP is also applying its Autonomy Information Governance tools to its new product, S e c u r e C o n t e n t M a n a g e m e n t a n d Monitoring. The solution makes sure all printing, scanning, faxing, and anything else done on an HP device is monitored and no sensitive information can be released, as the system makes advance warnings if any such data is being mishandled.

HP Releases 5 Tablets, 2 Printers

HP has not been sitting idle lately -- while working on expanding into 3D printing, it has also managed to come up with five new consumer tablet models and two new 2D printers.

The first tablet line, Envy, features two versions, one with a 13.3'' screen and another with a 15.6'' screen. With an Intel Core M processor and a multi-touch 1080p screen, along with a host of other capabilities including Bluetooth keyboard and Beats audio, the 13.3'' version has a starting price tag of A$1,099, and the 15.6'' starts from A$1,299.

The second tablet line, Pavilion, is smaller, at 10'', and is powered by an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor. With a detachable keyboard and a capacity to work for 11.45 hours, Pavilion starts from A$499. The fourth tablet, a 14'' Chromebook, costs A$399 and is supposed to provide value for money. Last is the Stream line, which is powered by Windows 8.1 Bing. The model is part of the battle between Microsoft and Google, which is why it is priced really decently, at A$299 for the 11'' version and a bit more for the 13'' screen version.

In the printer segment, the two new additions are the 7640 e-All-in-One and the Officejet Pro 6830. The 7640 is a multifunctional that can print 14 pages per minute, has fax and scanner capabilities, and can photo print, e-mail print, and print from the cloud, among other functions. Its price tag of A$229 makes it perfect for households and small businesses. The second new model, the 6830 is economical, and it has a duty cycle of 15,000 pages monthly. The 6830 starts from $229 as well.

Released in July 2014, the Brother HL-6300 printer engine is based on a new 27-32ppm, 1200 DPI laser engine. These machines have a first page out in less than 8.5 seconds, and come standard with 8 or 32Mb of memory depending on the machine. The HL-6300 series also have duplexing built in. Our HL-2360 machine came with a Starter cartridge which is rated for 700 pages. The starter cartridge does not come with any reset gears.

There are two different toner cartridges available for these machines. The TN-630 is rated for 1,200 pages, and the TN-660 is rated for 2,600 pages. The drum unit which will be covered in separate instructions is rated for 12,000 pages. There are different part numbers for these cartridges depending on your region. They are as follows:

There is a reset gear that resets the printer each time a new toner cartridge is installed. In our machine, the starter

cartridge does NOT have a reset gear installed. The TN-630 and the TN-660 cartridges use different reset gears. The TN-630 gear have one black flag VS two white flags on the TN-660. That is how the machine knows if there is a LY or HY cartridge installed. New HY and SHY reset gears are available so that starter cartridges can be made into HY or a SHY cartridge. Both the TN630 and 660 cores are the same so the LY can be converted tom a HY if the proper toner fill and reset gear is used.

Reset gears serve two purposes. First they reset the printer so it knows a new toner cartridge was installed. Secondly they tell the printer which cartridge was installed. When the printer senses a new toner cartridge, the bias voltage is set to a high voltage. As the cartridge is used, the bias voltage is reduced gradually down. This process is necessary because according to Brother, a new toner cartridge has a tendency to print light. As the cartridge is used, the density increases. To keep the density level even throughout its life, the density bias voltage is reduced accordingly. Each time a new cartridge is installed, the bias voltage is reset to the high voltage point, and the cartridge page count is reset to zero. Since different yields would dictate different decreases in density over time, Brother uses different reset gears which tell the printer how fast to reduce the bias voltage.

NOTE: Starting with the HL-6180 series, there were some major changes in the way the toner cartridge AND the drum cartridge works in this series. In case you missed it, we are covering the theory again.

New Brother Print Theory:As with previous Brother cartridge’s, the waste toner is repelled off of the drum to be transferred to the toner unit, but the method of how this works is now very different.

The waste toner still is transferred to the supply chamber, and this remaining toner still MUST be completely removed from the supply chamber before adding new toner. Failure to do this will cause back grounding. In addition to contaminating the toner cartridge, this may also contaminate the cleaning section of the drum cartridge, which in turn will contaminate the toner cartridge again. The reasons for this are explained in the following cartridge theory section.

The first new item in this engine is there is now a paper cleaning roller in the printer itself. This roller cleans off any extra paper dust before the printing process even starts. It is located just after the paper feed rollers.

The cleaning section of the drum cartridge no longer consists of a "cleaning brush" it is now a paired system of the cleaning roller assembly and the transfer roller but these rollers only play a minor part. The developer roller now has two jobs. In addition to transferring the good toner to the OPC for printing, it also now cleans off the majority of the waste toner off the drum. This is done by a very complicated series of different electrical charges and a series of directional changes on the drum and developer rollers. The developer roller and drum change direction and charge 4 times per full drum rotation. This is such a complicated process that the printers actually have a rotation controller PCB with a microcomputer on it to control it all.

The cleaning roller cleans off any remaining toner that the developer roller did not remove. The transfer roller basically self cleans itself of any residual toner or paper dust that might have accumulated in the printing process

When the drum is cleaned by the transfer roller the surface potential of the drum is dropped (from 900V to about 200V) at this point the transfer roller and cleaning roller will release the waste toner to the drum. This waste toner is actually then charged by the corona wire so that the developer roller can pick it up and bring it back into the toner hopper. Both rollers release the waste toner at the same time. This was done to keep the print speed high, the power supply smaller and the cost on the two rollers and cartridges down.

The drum unit also now has a small waste chamber next to the cleaning roller. The reason for this waste area is for things like paper dust that do not transfer well. Since there is a paper cleaning roller before the cartridges in the printer this area in theory should stay fairly empty. The metal roller next to the cleaning roller helps keep the cleaning roller free of anything that does not transfer

Since the developer roller now does most of the cleaning work, the condition of the roller while always important, is now much more so. If the roller has any contamination on it from the toner additives, (OEM or aftermarket) it will interfere with the cleaning cycle and ghosting/backgrounding will result. If the cleaning roller gets contaminated and not cleaned properly the same thing will result. The main culprit for this used to be the charge felt. It is now the developer roller. It is very important that the developer roller be cleaned with a dedicated developer roller cleaner. Never use alcohol of any type as this will strip the conductive coating off the roller

Since the waste toner is transferred back into the supply of the toner cartridge. Once you print with a bad toner cartridge, the drum unit will become contaminated. Even when you change out the toner with a good properly recycled or new OEM cartridge, the drum unit will transfer some of the bad toner back into the good toner cartridge, which will again cause back grounding. Both cartridges will be contaminated again. It can be a vicious circle.

The remaining "toner" in the toner cartridge when toner low is reached is just below the bare minimum that can maintain the proper charge level. When the change toner light comes on, the toner will not charge up to the proper level and will cause the back grounding. As the toner cartridge reaches the end of its useful life, the printer senses the low charge level in the toner supply and will try to keep the charge level up. This constant charging keeps an almost "empty" cartridge from back grounding. Once the printer cannot get the remaining toner up to the minimum charge, the change toner light comes on. The cartridge at this point will still be printing properly. If you were to take that same cartridge out of the machine for a few days, and then put it back in the printer without doing anything to it, the cartridge will background. This will happen because the charge level that the printer was trying so hard to keep up has dissipated out and the materials left can no longer accept a proper charge.

What does this all mean?1) Make sure that your cartridge technicians thoroughly clean out the supply chamber of the toner cartridge.

2) Clean the developer roller with an approved developer roller cleaner. (NOT alcohol! That will strip the conductive coating off)

3 ) In the event that they fo rget , and you have a backgrounding cartridge. The toner must be completely cleaned out again. (Do not use the toner over!!), and NEW fresh toner MUST be installed.

4) Clean the developer roller (Again) with an approved developer roller cleaner. (NOT alcohol!)

5) The drum unit then has to be taken apart and cleaned out with emphasis on the cleaning roller and transfer roller. This is a very simple process but very necessary once it is contaminated.

According to our tests, there will be approximately 45-50g of toner left when the cartridge is spent. This is normal. The toner left however as stated above is waste toner/paper dust only and must be thrown out or there will be backgrounding issues.

1) Vacuum the exterior of the cartridge.

2) On the GEAR SIDE, remove the two screws on the large half end cap (The end cap is in two separate pieces). Remove the end cap See Figure 1

3) Remove the screw on the remaining smaller end cap, press in on the tab and

remove the end cap. See Figure 2

4) Remove the gears and spring as shown. See Figure 3

5) Remove the E-ring and the developer roller shaft. See Figure 4

6) Remove the fill plug from the toner cartridge. Carefully pry it up from all sides. The fill plug is very fragile and easily damaged! Dump the remaining toner and vacuum/blow out the

cartridge. See Figures 5 & 6

7 ) O n t h e n o n g e a r s i d e o f t h e developer roller remove the screw, press in on the locking tab and remove bushing plate. See Figures 7, 8 & 9

8) Remove the developer roller. See Figure 10

9) Clean out any remaining toner from

the hopper. Pay special attention to the feed roller to make sure it’s clean, See Figure 11

10) Vacuum the doctor blade clean. Until new blades are available, we do not recommend that the doctor blade be removed or the developer roller felt seals disturbed. The doctor blade can be easily cleaned by blowing the excess toner off, and wiping down with a lint free cloth. Be very careful not

to leave any lint behind! See Figure 12

11) Inspect the magnetic roller felts. If they are compressed, (shiny) rough them up with a small screwdriver. See Figure 13

12) Clean the developer roller with a lint free cloth and a dedicated developer roller cleaner. Do not use any chemicals other than a dedicated developer roller cleaner to clean the roller. Any type of alcohol cleaner will strip the conductive coating off the roller.

13) Re-install the developer roller with the long shaft to the gear side. See Figure 14

14) Install the non-gear side developer roller bushing and screw. See Figure 15

15) Fill the cartridge with toner for use

in the Brother HL-2300 series of toner cartridges. Replace the fill plug. See Figures 16 & 17

16) Clean the gears, making sure that they have no toner on them. This is a good time to also check the gear shafts to make sure there is enough grease. If the shafts appear dry, or the grease is contaminated with toner, clean the shaft and inside of the gear. Replace the grease with white lithium grease.

17) Install the E-ring on the developer roller shaft. See Figure 18

1 8 ) T h e c a r t r i d g e w e a r e remanufacturing is a starter cartridge and did not come with a retaining plate, reset gear or spring. These items need to be installed for the printer to accept a starter cartridge as new.

19) Instal l the three gears by the developer roller. See Figure 19

20) Install the small gear end cap. See Figure 20

21) Depending on the cartridge you have, set the reset gears as shown. Make sure the Reset gear tab and the

移动打印,在当今对于很多用户来

说已经不再陌生。据某数据机构统计,

预计到 2016 年中国智能手机市场容量将

达到 4.7 亿台,平板电脑达到 5700 万台,

移动智能终端产品的销量将远远超过 PC

的出货量,无线打印对于家庭成为必然

趋势。在无线时代,使用打印机需要有

一个解决方案以满足移动应用的需求。

从目前的技术来看,基于无线网络

的打印应用成为了主流,而这种基于无

线网络的打印应用可细分为三类技术:

云打印、无线局域网打印、移动 ( 直连 )

打印。随着移动终端设备的日益普及,

无线打印技术的应用也变得越加重要,

一线打印机制造商此时已全部发力,一

场以无线打印为起始的战争,正在一个

自 2013 年,主流的打印机制造商联

合,成立以规范移动打印标准的 Mopria

联盟,目前这个联盟已经发展到除了有

打印产品制造厂商,还有多个软件生产

商,无线打印即将成为打印产品上的标

配。统一的标准、不同的无线打印产品,

让各大打印产品制造商在无线打印上竭

力拼搏。

在无线打印技术中,云打印技术发

展最早,也是最成熟的技术,主流的打

印机厂商也在云打印技术方面有着很多

的应用。这其中,以惠普的 ePrint 为最

早的无线打印技术。

凭借着自有服务器的优势,惠普将

ePrint 做成了一个具备远距离无线打印的

产品,用户仅需发送一个邮件,远方的

打印机即可通过惠普的服务器进行打印

操作。对于那些距离打印机 20 米以内的

用 户 而 言,All-in-One Printer Remote

移动 APP 应用可以很好的解决用户的无

线打印需求。值得一提的是,这项技术

即可让移动设备与打印机进行直连操作,

也可以通过无线局域网进行连接操作,

不同的连接方式在保证用户更多选择的

同时,为打印的保密建设增添了更多选

择的空间。由于移动终端设备与打印产

品距离较近,这项技术不仅支持用户的

打印操作,还可进行扫描、复印等操作

选项,用户仅需在智能终端移动设备上

轻触几下即可完成操作,简单高效。

除了惠普外,佳能、联想等厂商也

纷纷参与云打印技术的发展。众所周知

世界两大搜索引擎谷歌和百度,其服务

器在全球范围内都进行了布局。谷歌作

为云打印最早的发起者,其服务器优势

略大于百度,但由于众所周知的原因,

谷歌退出了在华业务,其中也包括了云

打印业务。此时百度云打印逐

渐被各大打印产品制造商所

看重。虽然在全球范围内谷

歌的云打印业务仍是第一名,

但在国内市场中联合了佳能、

联想两大打印机制造商的百

度云打印前景更为广阔。

与惠普的自有服务器不

同,百度云打印其绑定的账号是百度账

号,加入百度云打印的打印机制造商并

没有用户的信息,但用户可使用百度云

打印的账号进行多个品牌的打印机操控,

第三方平台的兼容性可见一斑。

虽然用户使用百度云打印服务可同

时调用不同品牌的打印产品,但我们也

发现,打印机制造商推出的无线打印应

用软件却根本不同,此时用户需要在移

动终端设备上安装多个应用程序才可通

过百度云打印这个平台对不同品牌的打

印产品进行调用,无疑增加了用户使用

的复杂性。

写在最后:在移动终端设备日益普

及的大背景下,各大打印机制造商可谓

是八仙过海各显神通,既有像惠普这样

自有服务器产品而做成的云打印产品,

也有像佳能、联想等企业通过搜索引擎

的服务器来提供云打印服务。无论如何,

移动打印技术为用户提供了更加方便便

快捷的打印方式,我们也期待着更多的

移动打印技术来改变生活。

土耳其电子签可停留 30 天,需持有有效的澳大利亚(必

须是贴纸签,电子签不行)、加拿大、爱尔兰、日本、韩国、

墨西哥、新西兰、英国,美国,申根,或 以色列签证。

在以上国家的签证中,韩国旅游签是相对比较容易的,但

需要事后销签(就是等这个韩国旅游签证使用过了或者失效了,

惠普起诉艾派克与纳思达

HP Announces Formal Division: PC and Print Business will be Independent

惠普在今年早些时候起诉 Datel 之后,现在又盯

上了艾派克和纳思达。Datel 案件涉及有关喷墨打印

机墨盒安全芯片的商业秘密滥用。然而,现在 OEM

厂商正起诉艾派克与纳思达存在专利侵权行为。

艾派克在 6 月份 Datel 诉讼案之后迅速作出反应,

正式撇清其与该公司的关系。9 月,艾派克发布了一

篇经律师授权的文章,声称该公司生产的芯片完美规

避了惠普的专利侵权问题。这篇文章特别提到了这些

专利。惠普现在正在起诉艾派克以及纳思达,侵犯了

这些专利。

艾派克对于其芯片并未三缄其口;相反,该公司

进行了大量的广告宣传,特别强调专利的独立性,列

出了其专利专家以及其所持有的专利的数量。此外,

该公司还再次通过新闻稿提醒公众其对于专利保护的

重视与支持,文章指出惠普的两项专利——即本次诉

讼的核心问题——曾经是艾派克存在侵权问题警告的

主要内容。当时美国海关拒绝允许一批存在知识产权

问题的喷墨打印机耗材进入美国境内。

非常有趣的是,惠普并没有把艾派克列入其提交

美国加利福尼亚州北区地方法院的诉讼名单上。实际

上,惠普列出了另一家中国公司纳思达及其附属公司,

但是提到艾派克在美国销售其产品,其中有些产品受

到惠普的指责,主要是适用于一系列惠普打印机的芯

片,还有纳思达的墨盒。惠普想要该地方法院签署永

久禁令,让被告赔偿损失,并承担律师费。关于损失

程度等更加详细的内容现在还没有被披露。

惠普宣布正式分拆个人电脑和打印机业务独立

北京时间 10 月 6 日晚,惠普证实,公司计划分拆成 2 家公司,

其中一个公司主营企业级业务,涵盖电脑服务、数据存储设备、软

件,另一个公司的主营销售个人电脑和打印机。此外,惠普还宣布,

原定于本周三举行的财务分析师会议延期。

据悉,分拆后的 2 家公司都将上市,其中,负责企业级业务的

公司将被称为惠普企业公司(Hewlett-Packard Enterprise),负责

PC 和打印机业务的公司将被称为惠普公司(HP.Inc),其中惠普公

司仍将保留过去的公司标志(Logo),此次分拆预计将于 2015 年

10 月完成。

原惠普 CEO 惠特曼表示,公司分拆是为了在这个瞬息万变的

市场更积极主动地寻求机会。通过分拆公司,可以给每个新公司独

立运营权、业务聚焦、财务资源和灵活性,让它们快速适应市场和

客户的变化,而这将会增强惠普的竞争力。

惠普前任董事长 Ralph V. Whitworth 表示,惠普的董事会和管

理层在重振公司的绝佳时机,做出了一个增强公司价值的智慧决策。

新的2家独立公司将凭借强有力的领导团队和良好的财务健康状态,

会更好应对市场变化和客户需求,加速业务增长,给股东创造更多

价值。

高层任命方面,惠特曼将把精力同时花在 2 家公司上,她将

特鲁索将任惠普企业公司的董事长,原惠普打印业务负责人 Dion

对于惠普的分拆决定,德意志银行表示,惠普的分拆计划

将被投资者视为利好之举,因为其打印机和 PC 业务与企业业

务部门的协同效益是有限的。德银宣布,维持惠普的买进评级,

目标价为 40 美元。

此外,美国科技市场调研公司 Moor Insights & Strategy 的

总裁墨亨德(PatrickMoorhead)表示,从多个角度来看,惠普

的分拆都将有积极意义。他表示,个人电脑和打印机业务和惠

普的企业硬件、企业软件和服务业务有着完全不同的产品生命

周期、销售周期以及销售渠道,分拆之后两种业务可以实现各

自的聚焦。不过这次分拆可能会给惠普硬件业务的供应链带来

影响,因为过去电脑、打印机和服务器业务的原材料整合采购,

可以给惠普降低不少的成本。

不得已的分拆

在过去一年时间里,美国的诸多大型科技公司发生了巨变,

微软、IBM、戴尔等公司,或是更换 CEO,或是转让资产,或

是走向私有化。这些公司在个人电脑和互联网时代成长为科技

巨人,而在移动互联网和云计算的变革时代,它们不得不艰难

应对新技术带来的市场变化。

在移动互联网时代,涌现出一批新的领先者。比如苹果成

为消费电子的王者,每年的收入高达 1700 亿美元。韩国三星

电子则成为智能手机的最大赢家,在三星的压力之下,诺基亚

被迫将手机业务转让给了微软。

在商业计算领域,亚马逊的云计算服务,极大降低了科技

新创公司的运营门槛,Netflix、Pinterest、Airbnb 等公司利用

云计算平台得以快速发展业务。许多知名企业也在使用亚马逊

云计算服务。

与此同时,谷歌 ( 微博 ) 构建了威胁微软的在线办公软件

业务,另外在企业云计算领域开始挑战亚马逊。

惠普曾经是全世界最大的电脑公司,然而在最近几年屡屡

经历波折。此次 2 家分拆的公司,几乎将对半瓜分 2013 财年

1120 亿美元的营收。两家公司独立之后,仍然可以跻身“财富

世界 500 强”的上半区。

此次分拆并非惠普历史上第一次。早在 1999 年,惠普将

其测试和测量设备业务,分拆成为独立的安捷伦公司。在分拆

第一天,安捷伦公司的股价暴涨了 41%,而在 2000 年,安捷

伦和惠普业务实现了完全的分离。随后安捷伦后期的股价出现

下跌,但是今天安捷伦的市值,仍然相当于分拆第一天的市值。

正如安捷伦的名字所揭示(Agilent 和英文单词“活力”相

似),惠普当年分拆该业务,是希望在第一波互联网浪潮来临

场季度跟踪报告(2014 年第二季度)》显示,2014 年上半年

全国生产型打印机总出货量为 2537 台,较之往年同期,出货

量增长明显。纵观过去数年,中国生产型打印机市场经历了快

速的发展阶段,年出货量从 2010 年的 1599 台增长到 2013 年

的 4696 台,生产型打印机市场已在中国印刷领域得到更为广

泛的应用,市场应用被不断地挖掘,目前已拓展到商业印刷、

出版物印刷、影像印刷、标签印刷、工业特殊印刷等领域,带

动了中国印刷市场增长,并将继续引领未来的发展。

IDC 中国成像、打印与文档解决方案研究经理王芳指出,

未来几年国内印刷市场将呈现以下几个特点:

1. 传统印刷向数码传统兼顾印刷转变

随着市场竞争的不断加剧和客户需求的个性化细分化的加

深,传统印刷企业需要更好地调整业务结构,优化流程,提升

产品价值,从而满足客户不断变化的需求。在此方面,生产型

打印机能够更好地满足市场发展变化需求,应用从商业印刷领

域不断扩展到标签、包装、个性影像、直邮、账单、出版物等

多个领域。越来越多的印刷企业采用预印方式印刷,将生产型

打印机与传统印刷方式联机,通过使用可变数据打印解决方案,

满足行业客户定制化产品营销印刷需求。

2. 可变数据印刷应用将带动国内生产型打印机市场增长

近年来,以直邮、标签、票据印刷为代表性新应用的国内

理行业白皮书发布会在京召开。来自日

本办公机械信息系统工业协会的 Takuya

Sano 先生从五方面为大家讲解了日本打

印机复印机及耗材回收再利用管理和实

践经验与现状。

据 Takuya Sano 先生介绍,打印机

和复印机不同,它主要是分成企业用户

和个人用户,企业用户直接把报废的打

印机送到废弃物处理的企业那里就可以

了,而个人用户的话是送到地方政府的

市丁村,再送到地方政府认定的处理企

业来进行处理。打印机的回收再利用和

复印机相比,有一些困难,并不是由生

产厂商进行回收处理的,原因是由于在

这个领域没有把这个产品交给生产厂商

的习惯,设备没有进行非常严格的管理,

第三是没有相应的回收运输渠道。而相

比之下,复印机可以得到有效的回收再

利用是因为客户有交付废旧产品的习惯,

另外是客户和设备在生产厂商那都得到

了很好的管理。第三,他在运输这些废

旧产品的渠道是建立起来了。

  最后Takuya Sano先生总结到,

JBMIA 希望今后代表行业以及办公设备

的制造厂商做如下工作,第一是进一步

提高企业的环保设计水平,生产一些容

易再利 用的产品,在一些不太容易进行

回收再利用的国家推进这样的产品走入

市场,使它即使没有专业的回收再利用

也不会对环境有更大的负荷。在原材料

回收这些方面,环保设计比较好的材料

是容易进行回收的。刚才所讲的推动回

收再利用,在适合由制造商制造和回收

的国家促进企业回收再利用。

提防进口国海关政策的“暗礁”

Beware of “Submerged Rocks”in Customs Policies of Importing Countries

随着在对外贸易中不断积累经验,出口企业也越来越重视

对买家信用风险的考虑,为了能够有效防范买方付款风险,出

口企业都尽可能选择预付款、LC、DP 等较为保守但稳妥的结

算方式来进行交易。但是,大多数的出口企业在考虑较为保险

的支付方式的时候,都忽略了对进口国的海关相关政策风险的

了解,普遍都认为与自己无关,诚然,进口国海

关政策往往是影响货款安全回收的“暗礁”,

以下案例与大家分享。

珠海某打印耗材公司(以下简称公司

A)于 2013 年 3 月初接到新客户土耳

其 B 买家一批打印耗材产品订单,总

价值 15 万美元,预付 30% 的货款,

后款见提单复印件付款。不久 A 公

司便收到了 B 公司汇来的预付款 4.5

万美元。一般来说,买家在支付了预付

款后,轻易是不会违约的,即使买方恶意

不收货、不支付余款,A 公司仍手握提单、

掌握处置货物的主动权,而已收到 30% 的预

付款也足以弥补货物转卖处理的折价损失。

当4月底货物到港后,A公司业务员多次向B公司催付货款,

但 B 公司却以各种理由拖延付款,到港的货物只能暂时滞留港

口,而 A 公司的业务员却没有丝毫的警觉。到了 6 月初,货代

提醒 A 公司,如果买方 B 公司再不提货,货物将被土耳其海关

强行拍卖处理。

此时 A 公司的业务员终于警觉过来,一方面想方设法联系

B 公司提货,另一方面则赶紧让货代办理退货手续,同时马上

开始联系新的买家。几经波折,A 公司最终联系到阿联酋的一

个新买家,愿意以折价 40% 为条件接收该批货物,业务员急忙

催促货代办理货物的相关转运手续,但货代方面却传来消息,

根据土耳其海关相关政策规定,办理退货手续必须取得原收货

人同意退货的书面证明文件,否则海关方面不予批准退货。在

与买家 B 公司取得联系后,B 公司此时竟既不付款,又不同意

退货,只是一直拖延。经过调查确认,此时货物已经被海关以

极低的价格拍卖处理掉,买者不是别人,正是迟迟不肯付款的

B 公司。

国际贸易涉及的环节很多,除买卖双方之外,还有货物的

运输、保险、结算、检验检疫、海关等多个环节,这些环节只

要有一个出现问题,就很有可能影响交易的顺利完成,尤其是

出口企业所忽视的进口国的海关相关法规、政策、手续的变化,

都能影响着货物是否顺利清关以及能否正常收回货款。

上述案例中,土耳其的海关就有相关规定:货物到港后应

在 45 天内清关、提货,否则货物将被强行拍卖;买方无需理

由可两次申请延期,每次 30 天,未申请则被视为自动放弃;

货物退运时,出口商不仅要支付清关费、码头费等,还要出示

原收货人同意放弃货物的声明。

出口企业如果想在对外贸易中保障自身的交

易安全,减少甚至避免损失,就需要全方位地

把握风险,其中规避海关的政策风险就是很

重要的一环,在这里我们列出了几条海关

的特殊规定供参考:

1. 土耳其、印度、韩国、尼日利

亚、孟加拉、巴基斯坦等国海关要

求货物退运时,必须出示进口方同

意退货的声明;

2. 印度的海关规定,所有转运至印

度内陆货运站的货物,必须由船公司负责

全程运输,并且提单最终目的地要填写为该

内陆点;

3. 中东伊斯兰国家海关规定,货物包装上不

得出现猪狗牛羊等动物图像和人像;

4. 俄罗斯海关对进口货物货值不认合同价格,而是按内部

估价进行征税;手续费高、繁琐且时间较长,通常要一个半月。

另一方面,如果未能提前掌握并避开这些进口通关的“暗

礁”也不要着急,要快速行动、争取时间、减损为先、掌握主

动,幻想和拖延只会让情况越变越复杂。同时还需要注意的是,

解决通关环节上遇到的麻烦,一定要通过正规的渠道、方式来

处理问题,违法违规的歪门斜路,只会错上加错,滋生出更大

的麻烦。

3D 打印技术是近两年全球制造业中的一个热门话题。根据

市场研究机构 Statista 的统计预测,到 2013 年底,全球 3D 打

印市场的整体规模约为 22 亿欧元(约 30 亿美元), 2018 年

全球 3D 打印市场的规模将达到 45 亿欧元(约 61 亿美元),

到 2023 年则继续上升至 77 亿欧元(约 105 亿美元)。实际上,

3D 打印技术的正式名称为增材制造,它基于数字化三维 CAD

设计数据,使用塑料和金属粉末等作为原材料来生产各种零件

模型。

3D 打印所采用的制造技术和原材料多种多样,从目前的市

场应用情况来看,FDM 型(熔融层积)3D 打印机是市场的主

流,这种打印机在 2D 打印机的基础上加入了 Z 轴的概念,使

用可热熔固态耗材成形完成3D塑形,耗材与整机的售价都较低,

但同时也存在耗材热稳定性不足、打印精度不高的缺点。除此

之外,SLA 型光固化 3D 打印机通过激光将光敏树脂液体耗材

固化,规避了原有的固体耗材热胀冷缩的问题,大幅提升了打

商业应用仍占主流

以 3D 打印技术制造产品原型一直都是该技术自发展以来

最重要的用途,它能够让使用单位在研发阶段降低或缓和因产

品设计、造型和功能等因素所带来的风险,还能支持新的制造

流程,缩短产品研发周期。

例如在模具制造业中,Stratasys 公司的 3D 打印解决方案

被运用在车载应用供水与供暖系统制造商 Whale 公司的加工

制造过程中,成功将原型部件注塑模具工具的交付周期缩短了

97% 左右。 Whale 公司 3D 技术服务部负责人 Jim Sargent 表

示,公司现在使用 Objet350 Connex 多材料 3D 打印机,在 24

小时内就能打印出 3D 注塑模具工具,且只需花费制造金属工

具成本的一小部分。“过去,我们生产金属工具的交付周期为

4—5 周,且生产成本十分高昂;现在,凭借 3D 打印机,可以

在白天完成工具的设计,夜间进行 3D 打印,次日早晨利用一

系列最终产品材料对其进行测试。这一全新的加工方法显著节

省了我们的时间和成本。”

利用 3D 打印技术制造医疗器材是另一个令人振奋的发展

方向。以较为成熟的齿科应用为例,3D 打印技术运用计算机辅

助设计(CAD)文件数据,为每位患者逐层创建出专用的塑料

制品,满足了定制化、以及大批量生产这两项要求,并且协助

提升了手术的精准度,因此在牙科治疗和美容手术中受到了欢

迎。另外,在骨科应用中,3D 打印技术同样也能够以优良的单

位成本优势实现定制化生产骨科植入物或其它医疗器械的目标。

对于大众消费类市场而言,尽管有关机构表示,由于生产

技术和产品价格等因素,3D 打印技术在这一领域中仍需 5 到

10 年才能达到成熟期,但一些行业领导企业已经开始积极布局

这一市场。在 3D Systems 近期公布的 2014 下半年战略重点

9.9 万台左右,2015 年这一数值将成倍增长;同时,2014 年全

球市场对 3D 打印机的支出将同比增长 62%,达到 6.69 亿美元,

其中企业支出将为 5.36 亿美元,消费类支出约为 1.33 亿美元。

尽管市场空间仍然有限,但最近一两年 3D 打印机的销售

增长速度有目共睹。有行业人士指出,一旦市场容量达到 100

万台的水平,一些资金、技术实力雄厚的大型供应商将在行业

万美元以上,而如今,3D 打印机的目标

价位是要降至 1300 美元左右。特别是对

于小型公司而言,成功的关键在于能否

满足 1300 美元范围内的市场需求,以适

应大批量生产和销售,或者是否拥有一

些专利技术,以求被收购。总之,未来

3~5 年内,大多数规模较小的 3D 打印机

公司将遇到严峻的考验。

与此同时,那些领先的 3D 打印机

制造厂商还在不断的发展壮大之中,他

们通常采用企业收购行为,进一步刺激

业务增长率并引入更先进的技术,以巩

固自己在行业中的领导地位。例如,去

年年中,Stratasys 收购了桌面型 3D 打

印 设 备 厂 商 Makerbot;3D Systems 并

购了金属粉末 SLS 3D 打印机生产厂商

Phenix Systems。 今 年 四 月,Stratasys

同意以 2.95 亿美元收购北美最大的 3D

打印、模具、注塑建模和快速成型服务

提供商 Solid Concepts,以及另一家 3D

打 印 公 司 Harvest Technologies。 而 为

了进军医疗行业,今年 3D Systems 宣布

收购定制化医疗设备和个体化手术治疗

传统(2D)打印机厂商同样是一股

不可忽视的势力,许多商业化 3D 技术都

是由 2D 打印机厂商所开发的,其中包括

佳能、惠普、京瓷、理光和富士施乐等。

毫无疑问的是,这些 2D 打印机制造商一

直都在等待 3D 市场的成熟和出货量的起

飞,目前他们正利用已有的自身品牌积

累,积极作好进军 3D 打印市场的准备。

中国 3D 打印产业迎来重要“窗口”期

作为全球重要的制造业大国,3D 打

印技术在中国同样获得了政策面和产业

面的高度重视。世界 3D 打印技术产业联

盟秘书长罗军在今年 6 月举行的 2014 年

3D 打印技术产业大会上指出,未来三到

五年是中国 3D 打印发展的重要“窗口”

期,到 2020 年 3D 打印产业有望实行全

面产业化。

在桌面级设备方面,今年 8 月,珠

海西通电子有限公司发布了国内首款采

用 SLA 光固化技术的 3D 打印机,打印

精度最高可达 0.025mm,打印速度可实

现每小时 15mm,产品定价约为 2 万元

左右,大幅提升了产品的品质和性价比。

此外,在主流的 FDM 熔融层积打印机市

场上,珠海西通电子、杭州先临三维科

技股份有限公司、深圳武腾科技有限公

司等都是目前本土重要的供应厂商。

在工业级开发上,西安铂力特激光

成形技术有限公司以西北工业大学凝固

技术国家重点实验室为技术依托,主要

从事高性能致密金属零件的激光立体成

形制造,以及金属零件的激光修复再制

造。目前采用铂力特的金属 3D 打印技术,

仅用 25 天即成功制造出大型民用客机翼

身组合体大部段中的关键零部件钛合金

上、下翼缘条,大大缩短了航空关键零

部件的研发周期。今年三月,空中客车

公司与铂力特签署了合作协议,共同开

发激光 3D 打印技术在航空领域的应用。

对于国内 3D 打印产业的未来前景,

罗军认为,中国企业仍然需要从技术研

发、产品成熟度、市场开发、材料开发

等多个层面加大投入力度,走集群发展

的道路,引导科研单位与传统产业的转

型升级相结合,同时还要加强与国际市

场的对话合作,力争走在全球 3D 打印产

业的技术前沿。

博世推出 3D 打印机自主品牌仍前路漫长

全球工业巨头博世(Bosch)也开始涉足 3D 打印领域了,其下属的

Dremel 公司于 2014 年 9 月宣布推出其首款 3D 打印机产品—— Dremel

3D Idea Builder。

“Dremel 3D 将使人们把 3D 打印的应用提升到新的水平。”Dremel

公司总裁 John Kavanagh。“创客们几十年来一直在使用 Dremel 的切削

工具进行三维创作。而如今,很多创客都在使用 Dremel 的工具对自己的

3D 打印作品进行微调和修正,并迫切要求我们也推出 3D 打印机产品。”

当然,如今的桌面 3D 打印机市场竞争已经很激烈了。但是有 Dremel

以及博世这块响当当的牌子在,Dremel 3D Idea Builder 必然会成为一款

让人不可忽视的产品。

据该公司介绍,他 Dremel 经与 CAD 软件巨头欧特克(AutoDesk)

结成了战略合作伙伴关系,欧特克将为 Dremel 的用户提供免费的可 3D

打印模型。“对我们来说,这仅仅是个开始。Dremel 的 3D 模型库将在

Autodesk?123D? 相关应用的帮助下持续增长。此外,我们的网站将不断

提供各种定制化工具,帮助人们进一步设计和打印属于自己的个性化项目。

从长期来看,与 Autodesk 的合作伙伴关系将使我们能够更好地融合硬件

Dremel 大张旗鼓推出的首款 3D 打印机其实是贴牌自国内著名的 3D

打印机厂家闪铸科技。据推测,这款产品有可能是闪铸科技的一款梦想家

(Dreamer)3D 打印机的升级版贴牌而成的。

编辑点评:国产 3D 打印机制造,看起来又在走手机的老路。曾经中

国高端手机市场被日韩和欧美厂商所把持,而低端市场充斥着山寨机、高

仿机,中端市场留给国产手机厂商一些余地。现在在欧美 3D 打印机进入

中国的初期,国产 3D 打印机仍然以贴牌、仿造为主,自主品牌的影响力

还不足,难以与欧美品牌进行正面交锋;若干年后,国产厂商恐怕只能重

走“拾人牙慧”的道路,利润低,产量压力大,在产品研发上不能够进入

良性循环。就目前的市场形势来看,国外 3D 打印厂商进入中国的不过十

几家,而且还不具备瞬间占领市场的能力;国产包括小作坊在内有了上百

家,除了太尔时代之外大部分处在起步阶段;而惠普,推出 3D 打印机的

时间一再跳票,仍然留给国产厂商一些时机。做出高质量的3D打印机产品,

仍然是国产厂商目前的当务之急。

工信部牵头国内 3D 打印产业

将快速发展

工信部副部长苏波在“3D 打印与生物医疗

器械产业化推进会”上表示,工信部正在牵头

制订《国家增材制造产业发展推进计划(2014-

2016 年)》,进一步推进增材制造技术,即

3D 打印的产业化发展。

工业和信息化部副部长苏波指出,工业和

信息化部将积极与卫生计生委、国家食药总局

协作配合,加强对医用增材制造发展的指导协

调,在产品和关键技术开发、产业化、注册审批、

临床应用等方面形成工作合力。

3D 打印板块分布最多的还是在中游打印设

备及零部件投资项目。细数近年来的项目投资,

投资额大多在几千万级水平,过亿的投资很少

出现,可见目前项目规模均较小。

业内人士认为,四大因素正在驱动行业加

速增长。消费级应用开启,低售价的个人 3D 打

印机快速普及,销量爆发式增长;工业应用上,

技术突破使得采用 3D 打印技术来直接制造部件

和产成品比例快速提升,尤其是在制造金属产

品领域上的应用在加速发展;媒体和社会关注

度大幅上升,促进应用市场培育,政府重视度

上升,政策支持力度加大。另外,核心基础专

利到期,新进入的企业大量增加,特别是面向

消费级应用的 3D 打印市场。

编辑点评:3D 打印是一个很大的产业,可

应用于消费、医疗、航空航天、汽车、电子、

奢侈品、食品等领域,国家政策的扶持给予这

个产业更好的发展前景。不过从消费者层面而

言,愿望永远简单而又现实——用有限的资金

获得最为靠谱的产品。目前单就与消费市场最

为贴近的国产桌面 3D 打印机而言,能够打动消

费者、将钱从裤兜里掏出来的产品还是少之又

少。政策往往对一个行业产生震动性的影响,

那么在政策的利好消息之下,国产 3D 打印机厂

商将产品做出较高的成熟度和商品度,是打动

普通消费者的基础。

大部分零件由 3D 打印制造,而诸如电动机、车轮、挡风玻璃等

则依然由传统工艺完成。

Local Motors 的 CEO Jay Rogers 声称,打印 Strati 零部件

仅耗时约 44 个小时,打磨及组装则另外花费了几天时间。随着

技术进步,制造时间将进一步缩短。“未来几个月,我们希望把

3D 打印的时间缩短至 24 小时以内,甚至更少。”Rogers 说。

3D 打印汽车除了能缩短工时之外,还能根据用户需求进行

高度定制。Local Motors 在 18 个月前就启动了 3D 打印汽车项目,

该公司以挑战赛的方式征集了 200 多份设计稿,最终来自意大利

的团队 Michele Anoe 脱颖而出。

Strati 采 用 的 3D 打 印 材 料 为 碳 纤 维 增 强 热 塑 性 塑 料 及

ABS。该车将于 2016 年正式上市,售价在 1.8 万美元到 3.4 万

美元之间。而在上市前,Strati 还会进行一系列测试。

机 iPhone6 的各种流言当中,有一条就是苹果订购了多达 2 亿

个 NFC 线圈。而事实上,NFC 是谷歌力推的功能,从大屏到

NFC,我们可以看到苹果面向主流应用的妥协。

新一代苹果手机也有了 NFC

在发布 iPhone6 的当天,苹果还推出了全新的 Apple Pay

支付功能。号称“苹果不知道你交你跟谁交易了多少”、“商

家不知道你的卡信息”,这对于境外游信用卡被盗刷时有发生

的情况,肯定是利好的。而苹果的 Apple Pay 进行验证,靠的

就是两个设备的协调工作:NFC 识别与 Touch ID 指纹验证。

我们可以想象,如同 Apple Pay,苹果几乎一个产品解决

了两个令打印企业头疼的问题,这对于日显重要的安全打印来

说简直天赐福音,只要刷苹果手机不就可以了吗? Mopria 联盟

也可以高兴了,苹果也 NFC 了!但是大家高兴的有点早了……

苹果现在已经正式对外澄清,苹果 iPhone6 系列产品当中

的 NFC 功能,目前只能用来进行 Apple Pay 支付。我们都知道

iOS 是个不开放的系统,所以如果苹果不开放,别人也就无从

开发苹果手机 NFC 相关的功能。

AirPrint 会进化成为 Touch Print 或是 Apple Print 吗?

这与之前 Touch ID 很像,不过过了多半年后,苹果推出

了用于 Touch ID 开发相关的 SDK 包,对于打印,也只能期待

明年 WWDC 上,苹果是否会推出 NFC 功能的 SDK 开发包啦!

当然,也许开发包会来的更快些。总之,值得我们期待苹果的

NFC 打印。

上海宜达胜科贸股份有限公司成立

于 2001 年,是打印机耗材生产商。前身

是耗材销售公司(1996 年)。目前宜达

胜公司集产品研发、设计、开模、注塑、

装配、再制造、回收及再生产的高新技

术企业。2014 年初在“全国中小企业股

份转让系统”中挂牌上市。

产品符合欧盟国际标准

1996 年,陈卫权辞去了国家公务员

铁饭碗,下海经商成立了(杰晨实业)。

初期只做耗材生意,5 年中他开发了工商

银行、上海银行大客户,效益明显上升。

2001 年陈卫权从贸易走向生产制造,创

建了上海宜达胜科贸股份有限公司。

能源合同管理是以减少 能源费用

免费送客户打印机使用,并提供兼容耗

材。客户把利差给宜达胜,(原装耗材

300 - 400 元一个,兼容耗材 100 元左

右)。一般情况,10 个月打印机成本收

回。经过这样的服务,上海银行等大客户,

他们打印经费以前每年用 1600 万,经宜

达胜管理后每年 900 万元,帮助客户节

省 44%的经费。达到了双赢目的。

打造回收再生耗材产业链

由于中国的回收渠道欠缺,造成一

些大城市常见到蹲在路边收废墨盒的人

群,这些是假冒产品的来源。这种现象

的出现,是源于国内正规兼容耗材,没

有得到应有的重视。

宜达胜进入上海临港再制造产业园

中心后,积极组建线上线下回收团队,

帮助客户回收废弃旧成像卡盒,建立了

办公耗材回收基地。改变国内这种混乱

现状。达胜公司从销售到回收、再制造

产品的销售形成一个产业链。并把它作

为公司的努力方向,为耗材再生行业做

出榜样。

目前我国是打印耗材的世界工厂,

但尚未建立起世界知名品牌形象。惠普、

爱普生、佳能等外资打印机生产企业,

目前仍忙于打印机行业的竞争,全力打

造自己的拳头产品,尚未来得及进入耗

材市场。但是,一旦整个打印机行业市

场利润空间缩小,需要寻找更多利润环

节的时候,这些实力雄厚的外资品牌企

业很可能就要进入耗材市场,将来也可

能进入再制造市场。

宜达胜认为,再制造绝对不是简单

的翻旧换新,而是一种专门的技术和工

艺,而且技术含量较高;在资源和能源

相对紧缺的今天,再制造显然优势凸显。

以发动机为例,再制造的成本仅是新发

动机成本的 50%- 80%,94%的零部

件被再利用,5.5%的被熔化再生,只有

0.5%被填埋处理。

为应对这些强大的潜在竞争对手,

宜达胜公司着手再制造的技术开发和品

牌树立,扩大市场份额,建立竞争优势。

近日,美国 SCC 举行了中国策略发布会。 公布 SCC 和

福州万特、OA 联盟、众办网的合作,SCC 作为产品开发和

生产商,采用了万特的品牌,借助 OA 联盟的行业影响力,

通过众办网的电子商务平台运营,这是一个资源共享、多方

共赢的创举,这也是互联网思维对 OA 行业的改变。

这种运营采用中央仓库模式,无需各地代理商囤积过多

库存,配合当地化服务商,为用户提供可靠、环保、合理成

本的文印服务。

SCC(Static Control)总部设在美国北卡罗莱纳州桑福德,

在全球拥有员工 1300 多人,包括行业专家 200 多人。位于

桑福德的生产基地有 16 间工厂,生产 1 万多种再生硒鼓和墨

9 月 21 日,《华尔街日报》消息称,据知情人士介绍,

惠普曾考虑与大型数据存储公司 EMC 进行合并。两家公司已

经就合作问题展开了为期差不多一年时间的商讨,但不久前,

由于价格条款问题以及担心股东的反对意见,目前合作谈判

已中断。

日前,美国技术新闻媒体 CRN 称,据美国 CNBC 新闻

台报道,惠普在上述谈判中,曾考虑将其个人电脑和打印业

务部出售给 EMC。但是,惠普和 EMC 均未对此消息做出任

何评价。这些消息是从惠普的合作伙伴口中透露出来的。而

且,这并不是惠普第一次想将其个人电脑和打印业务部卖掉。

CRN 还表示,惠普伙伴公司的一位不愿意公开身份的顶层领

导透露,惠普与 EMC 之间的合作谈判有可能再继续。

水技术可以用水完全替代墨盒里的彩色油墨。

吉林大学化学教授张小安和他的团队开发出一种用水代

替油墨的技术。张小安深知墨盒对环境的危害,森林消失会

加重能源危机和温室效应,但是全世界办公室员工都喜欢把

电子邮件之类无用信息打印成纸张(据统计办公室产生的文

件中 40% 只用一次,美国人一年要产生 7000 万吨废纸),

张小安利用一种遇湿变色的特种纸张,使水变油墨成为可能。

张的团队把这种技术叫做“喷水可重复打印技术”,这

种技术对纸张进行预处理,在纸上预先上好隐形染料,染料

遇水变色,水分蒸发后又可重复打印。

具备打印、复印和扫描功能,并支持 Wi-Fi 连接。

The World’s First 3D Printer Flies into the Space

全球第一部 3D 打印机飞向太空

9 月 21 日,国际空间站预定的第一部 3D 打印机随“龙”

货运飞船升空。23 日“到货”后,3D 打印技术即将揭开太

空探索的新篇章。

有了 3D 打印机,宇航员可以在国际空间站中按照需求,

方便快捷地打印所需零件,而不需要地面配送。

设计这台机器的“太空制造”公司尚未透露准备打印什

么,只说:“我们想打印有重要意义的东西,而不只是玩意儿,

要打印的一定是有实用功能的。”这台微波炉大小的机器使

用 ABS 塑料,即生产乐高积木的材料,可以打印 10 乘 5 厘

米大小的物品。按照设想,未来的太空旅行中,许多物品无

需在飞船发射时就准备好,可以等需要的时候打印出来。另外,

在地球重力环境下制造的物品未必适用于太空零重力环境,

而太空打印可以解决这个问题。

据悉,本次发射的 3D 打印机只是试用版,另一台制料

更坚韧、更耐高温的打印机将于 2015 年送达。

据报道,21 日升空的“龙”飞船将给国际空间站带去包

括 3D 打印机在内的共计 5000 多磅货物。除了 3D 打印机,

这批货物中还有:20 只试验鼠、变种果蝇、侧风雷达,甚至

还有高尔夫球杆的组件。
