THE HISTORY OF THE BRAAI

The origins of the word “braai “ is Afrikaans for “ barbeque “ or “grill “, and the word and language originates from the early Dutch settlers

who settled in Cape Town a few centuries ago. Now it is more than an expression of the way of cooking. It is a social custom. It is fun, it

is entertainment, it is always social, it is outdoors, it is music and time to be happy and time to enjoy people, food and good times. Come

over for a braai, let’s have a braai, lekker-braai, is the way of life. It is time for men to cook and be able to stand around “the braai “ and to

discuss rugby, football or cricket tactics and the coach always getting the team selection wrong. The men are always right! We braai around

a fire, we braai off wood or charcoal, we braai off gas on grids, grills, or flat plates.

THE BBQ RE-INVENTED

The BraaiMaxx is a revolution in outdoor cooking with 2 independent cooking areas that allow interchangeable cooking surfaces to be used; 2 at a time.

Each cooking side has an independent dome which is insulated and includes a thermometer. The beauty of it is that you can cook two different dishes

at the same time! All of the accessories can be stored and protected in the custom-designed rack on the inside of the cabinet and on the other side, a

gas bottle can be conveniently stored – hidden from view. Two fixed side tables offer plenty of room for food preparation. The easy-clean system allows

the burner box to be washed and any debris goes to the collection cup. Includes a hose / regulator and a BBQ cover.

BRAAI IN STYLE

The Meridian range is a European-styled, high quality range of gas BBQs that uses the CADAC “Modular System” accessories. These allow a variety of

cooking options to be used at the same time. The break-through in BBQ hygiene introduced with this range is; “the Easy-wash and clean” system. The

smooth porcelain enamelled fire box and drainage channels flow to a drip cup, thus allowing the BBQ to be thoroughly cleaned using oven cleaner or

detergent and water. The drip cup is emptied, wiped clean and easily replaced into the back of the BBQ after each use. This prevents an unhygienic

and dirty interior of the BBQ. When the inside of the BBQ is wiped, there are no sharp edges that may cut hands.

The Stratos range is a compact stylish, excellent value-for-money range of Gas Patio BBQs designed by CADAC for flair and performance. The BBQ is

available in a 2 burner, 3 burner or 4 burner all with either two foldable side tables or one folding side table and a side burner. The dome is double-

skinned with a thermometer and there is a choice of a painted dome or stainless steel. All stainless steel burners are rust-free high grade stainless steel.

The burner box is made from porcelain enamel for strength and durability, and a removable drip-tray.

A simple, practical, easy-to-clean barbecue with sturdy anodised fixed aluminium legs and a enamelled steel body. All enamelled edges are curled over

to prevent rust forming on sharp edges. The Charcoal Mate has dual air vents on the dome for better indirect cooking. The air intake vent gives an even

KETTLE CHEF

The CADAC Kettle Chef is the perfect fast and compact alternative to the Charcoal kettle. It runs off gas and has a large stainless steel central burner.

The BBQ grid is made from aluminium and is non-stick coated. All fat drips into the removable fat pan so that both the cooking grid and fat pan can

easily be removed and then washed and cleaned. The dome is removable and clips on the back for easy support. The gas cylinder sits into the support

attached to the 3 legs for easy portability.

SAFARI CHEF

This portable and versatile gas BBQ, weighing less than 4kg, includes four interchangeable cooking surfaces. These are the pot stand, the BBQ top,

GO GRILL

NON-STICK SKOTTEL LINER

The non-stick liner works without the use of cooking fats and oils, so

food can be cooked perfectly and healthily without being burnt which

makes it ideal for frying or grilling meat, fish, chicken and vegetables.

After use, the liner can be cleaned by simply rinsing with hot water or

in a dishwasher. Both sides of the liner can be used. To ensure a longer

lifespan, the use of wooden or plastic cooking utensils is suggested. The

cooking liner is intended for use on the CADAC Skottel top and is not to

be used on an open grill or in direct contact with an open fire, heating
