■ Japanese Language Course for InternationalStudents
The Japanese Language Course for International Students is a course designed to prepare international students to study in Tokai University’s undergraduate/graduate programs. We started Japanese language education in 1964, which was at that time a pioneering move among Japanese universities. The course begins every spring and fall (semester system), and is divided into nearly 10 levels according to individual proficiency. Students study towards achieving Level 1 - 2 of Japanese Language Proficiency Test. There are some subjects that are open to international students (e.g. Japanese society, economics, mathematics, physics), which are intended to help them prepare for further study at Tokai University. There is a homeroom teacher in each class, hence students can easily obtain support and advice including academic and living matters.
■Overseas educational cruise
The “Overseas educational cruise” is one of our unique educational programs. This program has been conducted every year since 1968. Students of Tokai University visit other countries on our research and training vessel “Bosei Maru” (2,174 tons) for approx. 40 days. International students can have a discount on the participation fee from ¥498,000 to ¥220,000* (as of 2015, including fuel surcharge).

Tokai University provides international students with various types of support such as academic advice and instructions by teachers, consultation for course registration, employment support, tutoring services, health consultation, club activities, and information about accommodations.
