2017 is governed by hexagram 21 “Shi He” (噬嗑), which is Fire

over Thunder. Fire is the force of clarity and illumination, while

Thunder is the force of wakening.

Fire can be associated with fire arms. We may see more crimes

committed with fire arms. It may also mean more fire related

incidents happening, such as forest fires. Thunder can be associated

with the sound of bombing. This may mean terrorist activities

advancing throughout the world. World events which are related to

political upheaval and disputes that cannot be resolved, may lead to

increased political tensions between nations. There will be

obstruction to policy matters and possible protests as a result.

The hexagram 21 image of “Shi He” (噬嗑) signifies a pair of lips

coming together again after biting or chewing. This hexagram

describes obstacles, quarrels and conflicting attitudes. There is a

possibility that you may get into a legal lawsuit, be slandered or

harmed by someone. In divination, it means that obstacles stand in

the way, but you can reach your objective if you are able to remove

or overcome the obstruction. The oracle advises you to compromise

with the conflicting parties for solutions to resolve the issues. Also,

the hexagram adds that to administer justice, sometimes

punishment is necessary; but the punishment should be

Summary

This is a year of conflict amongst leaders in

western nations and also trade conflicts will

arise as a result. There may be major

changes in world leaders who are elected to

lead their country in 2017.

Countries lying in the South and Southeast regions may experience

natural disasters.

According to Chinese metaphysics, in the year 2017, Wood is the

leading element. There is one missing element, which is Earth.

Earth is needed to protect the metal. The lack of Earth in the 4

pillars may mean that there will be a lack of demand for newly built

properties around the region. Although Metal is strong, in Wood

season, Metal is not aggressive.

Fire controls the metal element, so this may signify the need to be

mindful not to speculate financially during the months of March,

June and the final quarter of the year.

turn on a ceiling light at the entrance of your main door. Don’t

paint your door red though!

clean.

The auspicious direction to receive the

God of Wealth is from the Southeast.
