SCHEDULES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK
Thursday normal schedule: Those students who are in the choir will be travelling down to the Cathedral as well as any students participating in the Mass or event. The bus will leave at 3:10 p.m. Note: all students participating in the Mass need to have those clothes ready. The dress is normal school Mass dress (gentlemen in ties, ladies in regular school dress). Friday special schedule: We will be using the day for PSAT review and a talk with Karl Keating. We will be conducting a PSAT review during a portion of the day on Friday. At 8:45, Mr. Keating will be on campus to meet with students and teachers. That will last until 9:30. After that, he will be meeting with the pro-‐life club, and then heading back home. Our fall athletes and cheerleaders will be representing the school at the Comal County Fair Parade. Those students will be in jeans, tennis shoes, and athletic uniforms. All other students, due to Mr. Keating’s visit, will be in regular school dress. They will leave by bus at 9:30, and return to campus by Noon.
MEDICATIONS ON CAMPUS: A reminder to parents and students… No students are allowed to keep on their persons/in their lockers any medication during the school day. All medications kept at school must be accompanied by a completed and signed Archdiocesan Medicine Permission Form, and stored in the school office. The exceptions would be asthma inhalers and epi-‐pens.

THURSDAY AFTER-COFFEE PRESENTATION Next week, on Thursday, 29 September, Mrs. Strickland will be hosting a discussion and Q&A time for junior class parents. She will get started at 8:15 a.m. in the media center, and will run through some basics of the college process, help parents log on to some important web sites, and then answer questions. Generally, she would like to provide this kind of forum for those who are not clear on what the process is, and where they should be right now. It should last about 45 minutes to an hour and fifteen minutes.
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES We will be scheduling fall conferences very soon. We like to run these before the end of the first quarter, and so that date will be set in the next week. As soon as the date is selected, we will notify parents. PROGRESS REPORTS POSTED Student progress reports were posted yesterday (Tuesday) on RenWeb, and students with any failing grades had progress reports sent home for signature. TARDIES Students are considered tardy if they are not in their homeroom / first period class by the time the 8 a.m. bell rings. Students are allowed five tardies per semester before any disciplinary actions are taken. Please refer to pages nine and ten of the Student-‐Parent Handbook for additional details. Notices will be mailed & emailed out to parents this week to notify families of excessive tardies.
THURSDAY MORNINGS A reminder: Thursday mornings, 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. free coffee for parents. Prayer group at 8:30 a.m., in school chapel room. Stop by if you can!
FISHERS OF M.E.N. BACKPACK DRIVE The Fishers of M.E.N. club will be hosting a backpack drive from now until September 23rd. The goal is to collect 100 backpacks that are new or gently used. These backpacks will be given to OLPH to put in their AMIGA project, which is also collecting backpacks to take to street children in Honduras. Fishers of M.E.N. is also looking for 20 student volunteers to go to OLPH on September 24th to take the backpacks and help pack up the truck that they will be filling with the donated backpacks and other materials.
••••••• If we reach our goal of 100 backpacks, we will get a blue and gold day! •••••••••
PRO-LIFE UPDATES Tour of the Holy Spirit House: Thanks to all the students and parents who participated in the tour! We had a perfect turn out due to the size of the building. Thanks also to all those who participated in the coin drive last year. They were very excited to receive our surprise donation. Be on the lookout for more ways to get involved with the Gabriel Project!

SCHOOL STORE With our student/family population growing, access to the Spirit Store needs to be updated. Mrs. Sullivan will no longer be available to assist with purchases from the Spirit Store. The Spirit Store will be open Tuesday mornings from 7:30 a.m. -‐ 8 a.m. The Spirit Store committee will make every effort possible to be at different community and athletic events to sell items. If you are interested in purchasing items outside of these times, please contact Mrs. Pam Gutierrez at 210.490.6575. Please leave a message, and she will return your call and schedule a time for you to come by the school to make your purchases. Thank you for your help.
