Vedic Astrology also called ‘Jyotishya’ or ‘Jyotirveda’ which means the ‘science of light’.

This can predict the events of our lives and guides us to live in harmony with the universe.

This can be accepted as a scientific discipline as the Vedic Astrology is based on the mathematical calculations.

Ayurveda is the ‘Science of life’. Ayurveda explores the qualities and effects

not only of foods, medicines and behavior but also of climates, weather and the starts.

Ayurveda is based on the ‘Tridosha concept’ ie. Vata dosha, Pitta dosha and Kapha dosha.

The ‘science of light’ has a strong linkage with the ‘science of life’.

Like in Ayurveda, it has a broad range of treatment measures including the use of colors, gems, yanthras, mantras, bathing in medicinal water and the worship of deities are called ‘Jyotish- Chikitsa’, the therapies of light or astrology.

Vedic Astrology uses the seven planets visible to the naked eye – the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Also the north and south lunar nodes ie. Rahu and Ketu.

Saturn rules over most of the Vata disorders from Arthritis to nervous system disorders.

Rahu causes mental and nervous system disorders as well as, wounds, gastro intestinal disorders and mysterious degenerative diseases.

Mercury is a mutable planet including diseases like, chronic headaches, dizziness, deafness, psychological disorders.

The Sun governs all the Pitta systems of the body causing, thyroid problems, cardiac diseases, blood related disorders, Psychiatry disorders, high fever, eye diseases etc.

Mars, being a more malefic planet, is more likely to cause Pitta type diseases than the Sun.

Ketu is connected mostly to fevers and chronic infections.

A weak Moon causes medical conditions like, epilepsy, paralysis, parasitic disorders, stomachaches, diarrhea, thyroid problems etc.

Bad planetary placement of Venus might causes, tonsillitis, thyroid problems, diabetes, and renal problems.

Jupiter relates with obesity, respiratory tract disorders, diseases related to blood, scurvy, jaundice, poly urea, fever etc.

Apart from these treatments, worship of dieties, yantras, mantras etc can be done to overcome the problems occurred by the bad placement of Rahu.

Likewise, all the nine planets have different Jyotish – Chikitsa methods which can be inter connected with Ayurveda Chikitsa.

The 12 zodiac signs from Aries to Pisces also interlinked with Ayurveda. Eg: Aries, Leo and Scorpio are ruled by fiery planets Mars and the Sun and partake of the fiery (Pitta) nature of these planets.

The influence of the planets extends to the tissue level (Dhatus) of the body.Eg: Medo dhatu (fat) – Jupiter is the planet mainly responsible for the obesity or over weight.

The positioning of the planets have a significant impact on ones life.

But mind is supreme and can overcome all obstacles.

Mind can overcome the negative impact, a bad planetary position or the mind may block the positive impact of a good planetary formation.

A doctor with astrological knowledge can predict the ailment well in advance and prevent or reduce its bad effects.
