GLIQV Board

n GGLP FunctionÑIt provides two pairs of GE ports, and adopts the

load-sharing working mode between boards. It provides four pairs of external physical GE ports in total.

ÑIt implements such functions as the physical layer adaptation, IP packet checklist, fragmentation, transfer and traffic management. Its processing capability orientation is 2.5 Gbps line-speed processing and transfer, and 1K-stream traffic management.

n GGUP Function

ÑIt terminates the GTP-U protocol, restores

outgoing user packet service data packets,

processes the data packets (NAT, tunnel

processing, and data encryption), routes the data

packets according to its content, and forwards the

data packets.

FLIV Board

n 2. FLIV

Ñ 1) Function

In GGSN, FLIV module is used as GFLP

The FLIV board is an interface board with six

FE ports, mainly implementing the functions of

the physical layer adaptation, IP packet

checklist, fragmentation, transfer and traffic

management.

Difference between GGLP is that GFLP can

provide FE interface and GGLP provide GE

interface

User Plane Principle

n The GGLP cooperates with the GGUP to implement the functions of encapsulation, decapsulation and routing forwarding of the user plane.

n GGLP distinguishes the control plane from the user plane according to the destination IP address, and forwards them to the corresponding board of the control plane or the GGUP board of the user plane.

n The GGUP board receives the user plane data distributed by the GGLP. It terminates the GTP-U protocol, restores outgoing user packet service data packets, processes the data packets (NAT, tunnel processing, and data encryption), routes the data packets according to its content, and forwards the data packets to the corresponding GGLP interface board.

User Plane Principle

n Multiple GGUPs compose the processing unit of the user

plane of the GGSN. Each GGUP occupies an IP address

of the GGSN user plane.

n In addition, after receiving the routing packet, the

interface board GGLP forwards them to the RPU for

processing.

Control Plane Signal Flow

n RPU, SMP/OMP makes the control plane of GGSN,

responsible for the routing protocol processing, GTP-C

processing and system management and maintenance

n SMP process application layer signal (session processing

signal, MAP) , and it has the function of generating CDR,

making statistics etc.

n MP of GGSN send CDR to CG from USI.
