    General

    These General Requirements are applicable to the

    whole of the works. If the Tenderer wishes to price of

    the items contained herein then each such item, clause

    or sub-clause must be individually priced. The

    than one or all items, clauses or sub-clauses. Where

    any item, clause or sub-clause of the Preliminaries has

    Construction Plant and Tools

    A The Contractor shall provide all constructional plant, 1.00 Item 134,500.00

    lifting equipment, transport facilities, tools and

    services required for the proper execution of the Works.

    The facilities shall include the provision of protective

    clothing and safety equipment complete. The

    Contractor shall be responsible for delivery to the site

    of all constructional plant, which he needs to carry out

    the Works. This responsibility shall include shipment,

    customs clearance, off-loading, loading and handling

    and all transportation to site and the removal of all

    redundant plant on completion of the Works.

    Building Permits and Statutory Approvals

    B The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all 1.00 Item Included

    approvals necessary for the Government Departments,

    the Police, Local Service Authorities (ie. Dubai

    Electricity and Water Authority. Etisalat / EITC, Civil

    Defence, etc) as required in the performance of this

    Contract, and for coordinating approvals and the like

    with requirements of the master plan developer and

    his representatives necessary for the works to proceed.

    Site Boundary Demarcation Certificate

    C The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining the 1.00 Item Included

    Site Boundary Demarcation Certificate form the

    relevant Section of JAFZA, agree the location of the Site

    Boundary markers with the Survey Section and to

    carry out permanent demarcations. The Contractor

    shall provide the Engineer with a copy of the certificate.

    The Contractor shall be responsible for liaising with

    JAFZA.

    approval. The Engineer's approval will no way relieve

    the Contractor of his responsibility for the safety of the

    Works, operatives, adjoining property, structure or

    services and compliance with specifications,

    appropriate regulations and Codes of Practice.

    Temporary Utilities

    Existing Services

    Electrical Power and Lighting

    temporary supply of all necessary electrical power and

    lighting for the Works including paying all charges for

    consumption of electricity or supplying, operating and

    maintaining generators at his own expense including

    final testing and commissioning and until final

    Water

    water for the Works, suitable for all purpose through

    out the duration of the project and including final

    testing and commissioning and until final handing

    over. Furthermore, the Contractor shall pay all charges

    for the consumption of water used. Portable water for

    the project will be arranged by the contractor for the

    Fire Hazards

    C The Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that 1.00 Item Included

    proper precautions are taken to protect the temporary

    buildings and it's contents where naked flame is used.

    He shall ensure that the extinguishers are available in

    areas where such hazards exist.

    Temporary Fire Fighting Services and Precautions

    D Provide and maintain efficient fire fighting facilities 1.00 Item Included

    and equipment together with personnel trained in its

    use as detailed in the specification

    Living Quarters / Accommodation

    E No temporary living, accommodation will be 1.00 Item 18,000.00

    permitted on the site. It is the Contractor'sresponsibility to make any necessary arrangements for

    Facilities for the Contractor

    layout plan of the office facilities for the approval and

    arrange for completion within one week of the

    Engineer's approval. The Contractor shall provide all

    Temporary Latrines and Ablutions

    fly proof latrines and urine pans for his employees

    adjacent to the work, of a type which shall be approved

    by the Local Medical Authorities and Engineer, and

    shall be responsible for properly screening and

    Safety, Health and Welfare of Workmen.

    regulations relating to safety, health and welfare of

    workmen and the public at large. The Contractor shall

    provide and maintain first aid facilities on the site to

    the approval of the Engineer
