ocated in the centre of Japan, Gifu Prefecture has long been

blessed with a rich natural environment with clear waters fostering its many traditional industries. Products made in Gifu are a part of the culture nurtured in this climate, and are indeed a gift from the “Land of Clear Waters.” I would like to thank Heal’s on behalf of Gifu Prefecture for

showing the products of the 13 Gifu manufactures that repre-sent the traditional industries of woodworks, Mino Washi paper, Seki knives and cutlery and ceramics.

Through this fair, I hope many people will be able to experience the high qualities of Gifu made products and “authentic Japan”.

the route between Kyoto and Toyko makes Gifu Prefecture a great place to visit all year round. During the winter season mountain villages such as Takayama are popular for skiing, through the autumn
