6:00pm - The Northern Jazz Ensemble(Jazz) If you love Jazz, make sureyou are at Rotaryfest to hear theincomparable sounds of theNorthern Jazz Ensemble (90’s-10’s). The original “Jazz Night atDocks” founders, NJE was activefor 28 years. Judi Holmes, Steve Ryan, Marc Dubreuil,Martin Virta and J. Holmes will offer up jazz and pop tunesfor your listening pleasure.
7:00pm - Zak’s All Stars (Rock/Blues) Zak’sAll Stars (80’s) was a staple at Zak’s Bar and Dining Roomwhere they covered a lot of musical territory from Blues toRock. They were named “Rock Band of the Year” in 1985and “Jazz Band of the Year” in 1986. The band includes alloriginal All Star members, Bob Yeomans, Ray Gassi,Jay Scali and Brien Proulx, and boasts a whopping 200combined years of experience!
8:00pm - Polisi Bassoon(Classic Rock) The Bassoon(60’s-70’s) was a very popular highschool classic rock band thatfeatured three front singers, andguitar driven tunes with great four-part harmonies. Band memberseventually migrated south to playwith notable acts such as AlannahMyles and Klattu before returninghome. Members Michael Yurich,Rusty McCarthy, Ray Gassi and Stuart Bolduc are stillmusically active with local bands.
9:00pm - The Dark Side (Rock) Rewind back tothe mid 1960’s with one of the Sault’s most popular teendance bands, The Dark Side,playing classic rock tunesincluding Satisfaction, MustangSally, Route 66, and MidnightHour. After 40 years, the bandreunited in 2009, playing at theElk’s Hall and the following yearto a sold-out crowd at the RoyalCanadian Legion Branch 25. Now,the guys are thrilled to be backtogether at Rotaryfest: Jack Potvin,Sam Coletti, Mick Chapman, Joe Marino, Jerry Rutledgeand Don Kelly.
10:00pm - George Pinder and Patches(Country) George Pinder and Patches was a popular countryband in the 70’s and 80’s. Patches worked together for about20 years, performing at several venues in the Sault and area,and also toured Canada. They opened for some of the biggestnames in country music such as George Jones, Tom T Hall,Janie Fricke, and Tommy Hunter. Patches recorded an albumin the 70’s, which enjoyed air time all across Canada. Originalband members are George Pinder, Valerie Powley and FredPelletier, with guest musicians Rob Askin and Steve Roussain.

8:30pm - A Tribute to Bon Jovi & Journeyby Mustang Heart (Classic Rock) REWIND to the80’s with Mustang Heart as they present a tribute to two oftheir favorite bands of thatdecade: Bon Jovi andJourney! Mustang Heart(90’s-10’s) is a popular localband with over 30 years oftenure in the Sault musicscene. Special Thanks to Marci Genereux-Chindamo,Dama Chindamo, Lorenzo Fabbri, Vito Tassone andJohn Muise for agreeing to pay homage to two iconic Rockand Roll Hall of Fame bands for this year’s Rotaryfest.
9:20pm - Tribute to Past Bands andMusicians Mac Headrick will emcee a special tributeto local musicians, bands and venues from the past thatwere influential in creating and building the Sault musicscene! Special thanks to Mac, Ric Datson and Adrian Vilacafor their assistance with this tribute.
10:00pm - Treble Charger (Pop/Punk)Treble Charger (90’s-10’s) is a Canadian rock band formedin 1992 in Sault Ste. Marie. The band currently consists oflead vocalist and guitaristGreig Nori, co-leadvocalist and guitaristBill Priddle and drummerRichard D Mulligan. Theband, initially consistedof four members (Nori,Priddle, Rosie Martin andMorris Palter), and disbanded in 2006. They reunited in2012. They began with a melodic indie rock style, but evolvedinto more of a pop punk band after signing to a major labelin 1997. Treble Charger was one of the inaugural inducteesinto the Sault Ste. Marie Walk of Fame in 2006.

1:00pm - The Kids from “Sally” (Classic Rock/ClassicCountry) The Kids from “Sally” is comprisedof extremely talented young musicians fromKorah Collegiate who perform with the bandMustang Sally (00’s-10’s) during the schoolyear. Originating in December 2002, this bandhas changed personnel over the past 16 years,but their reputation for quality musicianshipand superior vocals continues to amaze withevery lineup, thus proving they are a force in the Sault music scene!Members: Jeff Rhude, Tobias Chong, Nicholas Gingras, Ethan Bedley,Trenton Whillans, Stephen North, Braiden Bryant, Madii Schomogyi,Ava Nori, Lauren Wilkinson, and Hannah Nicoletta.
2:00pm - Martinelli, McGillivray & Roy (Folk/Pop)Kelly McGillivray, Sue Martinelli and Sue Roy have performed for numerousaudiences for over 35 years, with Champagne Breakfast (80’s), and thenwith The Wailing Aztecs (90’s). This amazing trio performs folk, pop andoriginal songs blending harmonies reminiscent of Crosby, Stills, Nashand Young and the Indigo Girls. These super talented women invite youto join them and sing along to the oldies but goodies you remember.
3:00pm - Summer Beach Partyhosted by The Sun Dogs featuringtributes to Jimmy Buffett, The BeachBoys, Bob Marley and More (Retro Pop)The SUNDOGS has a diverse repertoire thatfocuses on the sounds of summer and featuresguitar driven tunes with cool old school four-part harmonies. 1960 and later Retro Pop songs with warm summerytropical themes by Jimmy Buffett, The Beach Boys, Bob Marley, The Lovin’Spoonful, The Rascals and Mongo Jerry. Veteran musicians Rusty McCarthy,Stuart Bolduc, Josh Norling and Tym Morrison will host this summerbeach party!
4:00pm - Odd Man Out (Rock) Odd Man Out (00’s-10’s) is ajam rock band based out of Sault Ste. Marie,Ontario. It features two epic lead guitars (Chris& Stephen Myers), a sexy sax (Josh Norling),a groovy bass (Mike Fera), funky drumming(Cliff Alloy) and power vocals (Nick Roy)! In2005, they released their first album entitled“Lost in My Wondering” and a second album entitled “Over the Oceans”followed in 2016. This band only reunites a couple times a year so don’tmiss this show!
5:00pm - The Suicide Kings(Rock) Royally Rockin’ the Soo from2012-2015, this hard rock band isdustin’ off some “tunage” and is readyto go one more time. Over their 3 yearreign, The Suicide Kings (10’s)performed their high energy shows all over the area. The Suicide Kingsalso played alongside legendary groups, Trooper, Helix, Anvil, HoneymoonSuite and Randy Bachman. Band Members: Mike Gaetano, Steven Flint,Mitch Sirie and Johnny Belanger.
6:00pm - Pegasus presents the Songs of Chicago, Lighthouseand More (Rock) In late 1972, Pegasus(70’s) was born. They were the firstChicago-style rock band in the Saultcomplete with horns and keys. In 1973,they won the Yamaha/Sault Piano Battleof the Bands, recorded an original, wona regional competition in Winnipeg andproudly represented the Sault in a nationwide competition in Ottawa.Pegasus went on to have a lengthy playing career in the Sault. Rotaryfestwill feature original members Frank Candido, Rob Burditt, Jon Frolick,Gary Elliott, Fred Pelletier and J. Holmes. Joining Pegasus are RustyMcCarthy, Jay Dinsdale, Ken Suriano and Steve Burditt.
7:00pm - Dustin Jones & The Rising Tide(Celtic/Folk/Punk/Rock) Hailing from Sault Ste. Marie, Dustin Jones,Chris Johns, and brothers Sheldon and Marshall Jaaskelainen guaranteea foot stompin’, harmony filled, fiddle and standup bass riddled, humdinger of good time. Thebrothers, (formerly of The Wild Turkeys (00’s)bring a unique Celtic Country musical style toDustin’s (formerly of the Inner City Surfers 00’s)unforgettable raunchy Punk Rock singing andsongwriting prowess. The band has spent thelast 8 years touring all over Canada and theUnited States. They have played many music festivals including The VansWarped Tour as well as The Dauphin Country Music Festival.
7:50pm - Tribute to Past Bands and Musicians MacHeadrick will emcee a special tribute to local musicians, bands and venuesfrom the past that were influential in creating and building the Sault musicscene! Special thanks to Mac, Ric Datson and Adrian Vilaca for theirassistance with this tribute.
8:30pm - The Stampeders (Classic Rock)The Stampeders are a Canadian rocktrio, consisting of Rich Dodson (guitar,vocals), Ronnie King (bass, vocals),and Kim Berly (drums, vocals). Theband formed in Calgary, Alberta in1964 as The Rebounds. They renamedthemselves The Stampeders in 1965and in 1966 they relocated to Toronto, Ontario, and became a trio. In 1971,they had a hit with “Sweet City Woman,” which won Best Single and BestGroup at the Juno Awards, On November 21, 2011, The Stampedersreceived the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2011 SOCAN Awards inToronto. They continue to tour Canada doing fairs, festivals, casinos, andtheatres.
10:30pm - That’s Chester (Rock) plus Encore 11:45-12:15pm. Classic rock at its best! That’s Chester (00’s) exploded onto the Sault& area music scene in 2004 and rocked audiences wherever they performed.This 5-piece new & classic rock outfit were notorious for great lead vocals,sweet guitar harmonies and a tight backline. This year Chester’s originalfront man Rich Fullerton is back to sing a few with the most recent lineupof Greg Simpson, Gabe Tessaro, Aubrey Falls and Ric Datson to ROCKSTAGE 1 one more time! Joining That’s Chester is Dan Belanger.

8:00pm - Jackson Reed (Folk/Singer-Songwriter)Jackson Reed’s songsare nostalgia, andwhen you hear themyou’re struck byreminders ofelsewheres andbefores, of summerspast, and of lovescome and gone the same way. His EP, “The November Gales”won Best Album at the 2017 Northern Ontario Music andFilm Awards. His latest album, “Dark Areas of Description”was released May 11, 2018 on So Sorry Records.
9:00pm - MD Dunn & The InnocentWeapon Ensemble(Contemporary RockFolk) Songwriter and poetM.D. Dunn has beenperforming for nearly thirtyyears in venues across thecountry. With the release ofhis ninth album, “The RiverLately”, he has broughttogether an eclectic band ofmusical veterans. The albumis a reflection of life inchallenging times.

7:00pm - Shae Tull (Folk Pop/Anti-Folk)Shae Tull delivers a folk popsound which is both melodicand dissonant, direct and vagueall the same, presented with adefinite unpolished yet focusedhonesty. She recently self-produced and released a cassetterecorded album called “MusicFor Maladjusted Manchildren”.

Friederik GeerstenFriederik is a multi-disciplinary performanceartist based in Montreal. He has a Bachelorof Arts in Theatre from Concordia University,and is a graduate of the instructors programat L’école National de Cirque and L’Écolede Clown et Comédie in Montreal. Friederikspecializes in juggling, acrobatics, comedyand character animation. He has taught,performed and provided entertainment foraudiences of all ages.
