1 Informationen zur Software des CMAX

1.1 Zusammengehrige Firmware und PlugInVersionen

Die Firmware des CMAX und die verwendete PlugInVersion mssen zwingendkompatibel sein, siehe folgende Tabelle (Stand 2010/02):

2 FirmwareVersionen

2.1 FirmwareVersion 1.0

Die FirmwareVersion 1.0 ist die erste freigegebene Version und bentigt mindestens das PlugIn der Version 1.0.1.

Diese Version ist in den Beschreibungen zum CMAX (Version 0908NH) vollstndig

beschrieben.

2.2 FirmwareVersion 1.1

Die FirmwareVersion 1.1 bentigt mindestens das PlugIn der Version 1.1.0.

Informationen zur Kompatibilitt bzw. zu den wichtigsten nderungen folgen hier:

2.2.1 Neue Fehlermeldung E47

Die Referenzfahrt oder die Identifikation drfen nur gestartet werden, wenn dasMotion Complete gesetzt ist (MC=1). Falls nicht wird der Fehler E47 erzeugt.

Durch diese nderung wird der Handshake zwischen SPS und CMAX eindeutiger.

2.2.2 Verbesserter Handshake in der Parameterbetriebsart fr zyklischeEADaten

Wenn die SPS die Betriebsart Parametrierung aktiviert, setzt der CMAX dieEDaten nicht mehr automatisch auf 0. Durch diese nderungen wird der

Handshake zwischen SPS und CMAX eindeutiger.

2.2.3 Ventilfehler bei kurzzeitigem Einbruch der Versorgungsspannungkorrigiert

Bei zu schwachem oder zu langsam nachregelndem Netzteil konnte unter bestimmten Randbedingungen ein Ventilfehler auftreten (rote LED), ohne dass derCMAX eine Strung meldete. Fahrauftrge wurden nicht ausgefhrt.

2.2.4 Fehlerhafte Referenzfahrt

Bei groen Antrieben und/oder groen Massen in vertikaler Einbaulage waren dienotwendigen berwachungszeiten nicht ausreichend. Die Robustheit des Referenziervorganges wurde erhht.

2.2.5 nderung beim Handshake START/ACK bzw. HOME/ACK bei Betriebsfreigabe (STOP)

Die Signale START (Bit B1) und HOM (Bit B2) im ControlByte CPOS mssen beim

Setzen der Betriebsfreigabe (Bit B1) im StatusByte SCON noch zurckgesetzt (=0)sein. Wenn nicht, wird die neue Strung E58 oder neue Warnung W58 erzeugt(konfigurierbar).Die folgenden Diagramme a) bis c) zeigen die verschiedenen Flle.

HinweisDer Ablauf entsprechend a) ist auch nach einer Strung zu beachten. Setzen Siedeshalb unbedingt vor dem Quittieren der Strung SCON.START = 0 undSCON.HOM = 0.

Die Situation erzeugt die Warnung W58. Mit Rcknahme von START/HOM wird ACKzurckgesetzt und es kann ein Fahrauftrag gestartet werden. Dabei wird die

Warnung mit der STARTFlanke gelscht.

Hinweis: Grundstzlich ist nach einer Strung drauf zu achten, dass vor dem Quittieren der Strung unbedingt CPOS.START / CPOS.HOM zurckgesetzt sind (=0).

3.1 Zusammenhang zwischen Projekt, CMAX und PlugIn

das Projekt geladen wurde. PlugIn Version, mit der die Komponente im Projekt

Zum Herstellen der Gerteverbindung wird berprft:

1. Erfllt das verwendete PlugIn die Mindestanforderung des CMAX?

2. Wenn ja, werden die Projektdaten verglichen.

3. Wenn nein, wird das PlugIn abgewiesen. Eine Meldung wird im Fenster Ausgabe angezeigt.

Hinweis: Die FirmwareVersion selbst wird nicht verglichen.

Wenn das im Projekt verwendete PlugIn nicht die erforderlich Version hat, alsonicht die Mindestanforderungen des CMAX erfllt, wird keine Gerteverbin

3.2 Wo finde ich die Informationen zu den Versionen meines Systems?

Eine Liste der jeweils neuesten Versionen der installierten PlugIns knnen Sie mitdem Befehl [Hilfe] [Info ber installierte PlugIns] anzeigen.

Beim Einfgen einer neuen Komponente knnen Sie die gewnschte Version auswhlen Abschnitt 3.5, Bild9.

Mit welchem PlugIn die Komponente CMAX im Projekt erzeugt wurde wird auf derSeite Controller" im Register Kompatibilitt" angezeigt, siehe Bild6.

Sobald eine Gerteverbindung erfolgreich hergestellt wurde, wird FirmwareVersion des CMAX auf der Seite Controller" im Register Gertedaten" angezeigt,die aktuell verwendete PlugInVersion finden Sie in der Statusleiste des FCTFensters, siehe Bild8.

3.3 Kann ich ein altes Projekt mit dem neuem PlugIn ffnen?

Nein, eine mit einem alten PlugIn erstellte Komponente in einem Projekt kann nicht

auf ein neues PlugIn aktualisiert werden.Beim ffnen eines Projekts wird immer die Version verwendet, mit der das Projekterstellt wurde.

Eine Aktualisierung ist aber mglich Abschnitt 3.4.

3.4 Wie lade ich ein altes Projekt in einen neuen CMAX?

Dies ist mglich, wenn der alte CMAX (mit Firmware 1.0) verfgbar ist. Dann knnen Sie eine Komponente mit dem neuen PlugIn anlegen und mit einen Upload dieProjektdaten aus dem CMAX in das Projekt laden Abschnitt 3.9.

Tipp:Die Projektdaten aus dem alten Projekt knnen mit der Funktion PNUTabelleexportieren" gesichert werden und anschlieen in einem neuen Projekt mit PNUTabelle importieren" geladen werden OnlineHilfe zum PlugIn. Mit diesenFunktionen ist kein CMAX als Zwischenspeicher" notwendig.

HinweisAktivieren Sie vorher den Expertenmodus ber das Hauptmen des FCT([Komponente] [Expertenmodus] ), damit evtl. genderte erweiterte Datenebenfalls bernommen werden.

3.5 Kann ich ein lteres PlugIn in einem neuen Projekt verwenden?

Festo empfiehlt generell den Einsatz der jeweils neuesten PlugInVersion.

Falls Sie dennoch eine ltere PlugInVersion verwenden mchten, knnen Sie diesebeim Einfgen einer neuen Komponente in das Projekt auswhlen:

3.6 Kann ich ein neues Projekt in einen alten CMAX laden?

Dies ist problemlos mglich. Die von der alten FirmwareVersion nicht untersttzten Features sind dann natrlich nicht verfgbar.

3.7 Wie lade ich die neue Firmware in einen alten CMAX?

Laden Sie die neue FirmwareDatei von www.festo.com Abschnitt 1.2.Gehen Sie dann vor wie im Kapitel 4 beschrieben.

3.8 Kann man eine alte Firmware in einen neuen CMAX laden?

Auch das ist mglich. Laden Sie die alte FirmwareDatei von www.festo.com, sieheAbschnitt 1.2. Gehen Sie dann entsprechend vor wie im Kapitel 4 beschrieben.

3.9 Wie kann ich ein Projekt aus einem alten CMAX in ein neues PlugIn laden?

Dies ist einfach durch Anlegen eines neuen Projekts mit neuem PlugIn mglich.

Beim Aktivieren der Gerteverbindung wird automatisch der Assistent zurHardwaresynchronisierung angezeigt, mit dem Sie die Projektdaten aus demCMAX in das Projekt bernehmen knnen Kapitel 4, Schritt 3.

HinweisAktivieren Sie vorher den Expertenmodus ber das Hauptmen des FCT([Komponente] [Expertenmodus] ), damit evtl. genderte erweiterte Datenebenfalls bernommen werden.

4 Vorgehensweise beim FirmwareDownload

Nachfolgend finden Sie die notwendigen Schritte zum FirmwareDownload, fallserforderlich mit dem Sichern bestehender Daten.

Die Beschreibung bezieht sich auf ein Upgrade der Firmware von Version 1.0 aufVersion 1.1, gilt aber entsprechend auch fr neuere Versionen.

Schritt 1: Installation des CMAX FCTPlugIns 1.1.0Fr den Upgrade der Firmware auf Version 1.1 wird zwingend das CMAX FCTPlugIn1.1.0 bentigt. Mit dem PlugIn 1.0.x knnen Sie die Firmware nicht aktualisieren.

Schritt 2: Neue CMAX Komponente

Legen sie eine neue CMAX Komponente mit PlugIn Version 1.1.0 in einem neuenoder bereits vorhandenen Projekt an.

Wenn Sie die vorhandenen Daten des CMAX vor dem FirmwareDownload sichernwollen, dann geht es weiter mit Schritt 3 Sicherung der CMAX Daten.Ist eine Sicherung nicht notwendig dann knnen sie Schritt 3 berspringen und mitSchritt 4 Download der Firmware 1.1 fortfahren.

Schritt 3: Sicherung der CMAX Daten

HinweisAktivieren Sie vorher den Expertenmodus ber das Hauptmen des FCT

([Komponente] [Expertenmodus] ), damit evtl. genderte erweiterten Datenebenfalls bernommen werden.

Zum Sichern der vorhandenen Daten aktivieren Sie dann die Gerteverbindung. Essollte nun der Assistent zur Hardwaresynchronisierung angezeigt werden.Ist das nicht der Fall und der KonfigurationsAssistent wird angezeigt, so sindkeine Daten im CMAX vorhanden und Sie knnen sofort mit Schritt 4 Downloadder Firmware 1.1 fortfahren.

Klicken Sie auf Weiter bis Sie zur Auswahl der Abgleichsoptionen kommen. Dortwhlen Sie die Option "SollKonfiguration in das FCT Projekt bernehmen" aus.Danach klicken Sie wieder auf Weiter.

Schritt 4: Download der Firmware 1.1

Whlen Sie im Hauptmen des FCT [Komponente] [FirmwareDownload], um dasDialogfenster zum FirmwareDownload zu ffnen. Unter "Verfgbare FirmwareDateien" sehen Sie alle importierten FirmwareDateien des CMAX. Ist die Firmware1.1 noch nicht dabei, fgen Sie mit "Importieren" die FirmwareDatei im PlugInhinzu.

HinweisDer Firmware Download lscht alle Daten auf dem CMAX und Sie knnen miteinem "alten" Projekt keine Verbindung mehr zum CMAX aufbauen.

Whlen Sie nun die Firmware 1.1 aus und klicken dann auf Download.

Schritt 5: Gesicherte Daten wiederherstellen

Stellen Sie nach dem FirmwareDownload wieder die Gerteverbindung zum CMAXher. Mit "Download Projekt" im KonfigurationsAssistent werden die gesichertenDaten in den CMAX bertragen.

1 Information on the CMAX software

1.1 Related firmware und plugin versions

The CMAX firmware and the used plugin version must be compatible; seefollowing table (status 2010/02):

2 Firmware versions

2.1 Firmware version 1.0

Firmware version 1.0 is the first approved version and requires at least the pluginof version 1.0.1.

This version is completely described in the descriptions for the CMAX

(version0908NH).

2.2 Firmware version 1.1

Firmware version 1.1 requires at least the plugin of version 1.1.0.

Information on compatibility or the most important changes follow here:

2.2.1 New error message E47

The homing or identification may only be started when the Motion Complete is set(MC=1). If not, error E47 is produced.

This change makes the handshake between PLC and CMAX more unique.

2.2.2 Improved handshake in the parameter operating mode for cyclicI/Odata

If the PLC activates the parametrisation operating mode, the CMAX no longerautomatically sets the input data to 0. These changes make the handshake

between PLC and CMAX more unique.

2.2.3 Valve error in case of momentary interruption of the supply voltagecorrected.

In case of a power supply unit that is too weak or corrects too slowly, a valve error(red LED) can occur under certain parameters without the CMAX reporting amalfunction. Positioning jobs are not carried out

2.2.4 Defective homing

In the case of large drives and/or large masses in vertical mounting position, thenecessary monitoring times were not sufficient. The robustness of the homingprocedure was increased.

2.2.5 Change in the handshake START/ACK or HOME/ACK in case of operationenable (STOP)

The signals START (bit B1) and HOM (bit B2) in the controlbyte CPOS must still be

reset (=0) when setting the operation enable (bit B1) in the status byte SCON.If not, the new malfunction E58 or new warning W58 is generated (configurable).The following diagrams a) to c) show the various cases.

NoteThe sequence correspond to a) must also be observed after a malfunction.Therefore, before acknowledging the malfunction, always set SCON.START = 0and SCON.HOM = 0.

3.1 Relationship between project, CMAX and plugin

The CMAX includes: Firmware version Necessary plugin version for

the available firmware Project data

The project in the FCT includes: Information of the firmware of the controller into

which the project was loaded. Plugin versionwith which the components in the

project were created (when the project is opened,the corresponding plugin version is automaticallycalled up)

The following are checked when the device connection is created:

1. Does the used plugin meet the minimum request of the CMAX?

2. If so, the project data are compared.

3. If not, the plugin is rejected. A message is displayed in the Output" window.

Note: The firmware version itself is not compared.

If the plugin used in the project does not have the required version, that is,does not fulfil the minimum request of the CMAX, no device connection iscreated.

The plugin 1.0.x reports this in the Output" window; see Fig.5.The currently used plugin version is displayed in the status bar at the lowerright.

3.2 Where do I find the information on the versions of my system?

You can display a list of the newest versions of the installed plugins with thecommand [Help] [Info on installed plugins].

When inserting a new component, you can select the desired version section 3.5, Fig.9.

The plugin with which the CMAX component was produced in the project isdisplayed on the Controller" page in the Compatibility" register; see Fig.6.

As soon as a device connection has been successfully created, the firmwareversion of the CMAX is displayed on the Controller" page in the Device data"register;you can find the currently used plugin version in the status bar of the FCT window;see Fig.8.

3.4 How do I load an old project into a new CMAX?

This is possible if the old CMAX (with firmware 1.0) is available. Then you cancreate a component with the new plugin and load the project data from the CMAXinto the project with an upload section 3.9.

Tip:The project data from the old project can be saved with the function Export PNUtable" and then loaded in a new project with Import PNU table" Online help onthe plugin. With these functions, no CMAX is necessary as a buffer".

3.5 Can I use an older plugin in a new project?

Festo generally recommends the use of the newest plugin version.

But if you still wish to use an older plugin version, you can select it when insertinga new component into the project:

3.6 Can a new project be loaded into an old CMAX?

This is possible without any problem. Of course, the features not supported by theold firmware version are not available.

3.7 How do I load the new firmware into an old CMAX?

Load the new firmware file from www.festo.com section 1.2.Then proceed as described in chapter 4.

3.8 Can an old firmware be loaded into a new CMAX?

That, too, is possible. Load the old firmware file from www.festo.com;see section 1.2. Then proceed as described in chapter 4.

3.9 How can I load a project from an old CMAX into a new plugin?

This is possible simply by creating a new project with a new plugin.

When the device connection is activated, the Hardware Synchronisation Wizard,with which you can take over the project data from the CMAX into the project, isautomatically displayed chapter 4, step 3.

4 Procedure for firmware download

You will subsequently find the necessary steps for the firmware download, ifnecessary with saving of the existing data.

The description refers to an upgrade of the firmware from version 1.0 toversion1.1, but also applies correspondingly for newer versions.

Step 1: Installation of the CMAX FCT plugin 1.1.0For upgrade of the firmware to version 1.1, the CMAX FCT plugin 1.1.0 isabsolutely required. You cannot update the firmware with the plugin 1.0.x.

Step 2: New CMAX component

Create a new CMAX component with plugin version 1.1.0 in a new or alreadyexisting project.

If you want to save the existing CMAX data before the firmware download,continue with step 3 Saving the CMAX data.If saving is not necessary, you can skip step 3 and continue with step 4 Downloadof the Firmware 1.1.

Step 3: Saving the CMAX data

NoteActivate previously the expert mode through the main menu of the FCT

([Component] [Expert mode] ), so that any updated extended data can also betaken over.

Then activate the device connection to save the existing data. The HardwareSynchronisation Wizard should now be displayed.If that does not happen and the Configuration Wizard is displayed, no dataarepresent in the CMAX and you can continue with step 4 Download of theFirmware1.1.

Click on Continue" until you come to selection of the comparison options. Thereselect the option Transfer nominal configuration into the FCT project". Then clickon Continue".

Select the Complete upload" on the following page. Then click on Continue" andFinish" on the next page.
