meeting . Among the sixty-odd songs I wrote down from him in

dependable character if there waG one, 8S s teady ae the 'Rock'

below which he lived his life; full of obstinat" ideae of hb

own , and loving to be praised ; deeply imbued with hi ... own

cultur ... and only really haPpy in ita familiar aurroundinga. It

was a compliment to the Socie ty that he made himaelf so much

at home when he nang a t Essex St, Dublin, ln SePt ember 1975.
